External Dust extraction

I didn't want to add this to workshop cus it can be in its own topic I believe.

Digging footings for my workshop and laying it all out I have a corner space behind the building to either extend the building later or use it for something else!!

Well I thought an external (outside) dust extractor would be best out side.

Few reasons!!!

1. Doesn't take up room in my workshop!!

2. Keeps noise levels down inside my workshop! (Ill likely build a wooden shed around the external extractor to keep noise levels down outside)

3. I don't have  to worry so much about fine dust particles escaping back into my work shop through the filter because its outside.

4. When emptying the extractor won't be any chance of dust going back into the work shop.

Now I'll most likely be building a wooden insulated structure around the extractor .  This leaves me with two options I buy a specific external extractor or a inside one but just stick it outside in the wooden shed I build

Makes good sense to get it outside if you have space and you're not going to drive people bonkers with noise.

Remember installing something like that is creating low pressure within your workshop.

That's a nice looking little unit - but make sure you get your volumes right, there's not such thing as too much when it comes to extraction (within reason that is).

Yeah I was thinking off installing a sound proof air vent to let air into the workshop.

I was thinking of     Sternvent  cyd 3015.   . Seems about right size don't know where I would find one in the uk.  It has 4000cfm 15hp motor

LoL maybe two one for cnc other one for rest of the machines.  Think I need a normal extractor for cnc though for fine dust.  I dont mind putting that in the same room as cnc.  Cus I'm building a box around the cnc floating ceiling to keep the noise contained don't wanna listen to da all day while its running and I'm working on something else

As you will be blowing the dust from your shop and venting the shop as Kev suggested, you will need vent from the vac enclosure.  With the machinery noise inside your shop, it makes a lot of sense to put the vac machinery out of the shop.  Where i get my lumber, they have a shop with collection building outside.  inside the shop, you never hear the vac.  Out in the yard, even with the huge vac engine running, with it enclosed, you can only hear a very slight hum. The building is large enough that a large payloader can drive right in to move the dust out into trucks.  The biggest noise outside is the trucks that come into the yard to get the free mulch.

Theres always used outside extractors going cheap on ebay and not much to go wrong with one.

Second hand is something I don't like doing if I can buy it new I rather buy it new.

I know second hand you can get good stuff at good prices just I don't like buying second hand.

Ha well I had no choice 60k for a machine is a little to high! Especially that I gotta buy alot more machinery to kit the work shop out.  If I could of afforded it I would off bought it new.
