Considering a systainer for:
Nail guns
Router (non Festool (gasp))
RA grinder
Fien multimaster

Trying to organize my shop, how many use the systainer inserts for things like the fein and a ra grinder? I'd love sources for the inserts, better would be one source for both

Systainers and Sysports, the best system to come along so far for organizing a shop.

I don't have a need for the fein or ra grinder inserts, but I do use the pick & pluck foam for non-Festool tools.  My big PC router mounted in my Woodpecker lift is stored in a Systainer V.  Another Systainer contains my PC-121 Oscillating Sander along with the Woodpecker plate.  Eventually, I'll probably store more non-Festool tools in Systainers too.  And don't forget about the Sortainers...

Depending on what your looking for, you may already be able choose a single source for both.  Festool not only sells the Systainers and foam inserts that you see on their website, they also sell all their tool, abrasives and miscellaneous inserts found at their E-KAT page for Systainers & Sortainers Parts.  And MySystainer, Japan Woodworker and Lee Valley all sell Systainers, foam inserts and other compartmentalized inserts -- some have the Fein insert, and others have the angle grinder and drill trays.  What's more, these other retailers also carry some of the lid inserts for more storage solutions -- I have a couple lid inserts in route to me right now.

Very nice!  Every now and then I try to justify buying one... no luck yet.  Unlike Festools where I can easily come up with a good excuse, I've beat my head trying to think where I might use one -- they are a very cool tool!

EDIT: I was browsing HD today & notice that Ridgid has a version out that has four (4) interchangeable heads -- cutter, right angle drill, hammer driverl & socket ratchet driver attachments.  It was $99. I think.  I would buy the Fein unit in a minute if it had that versatility.

You can't go wrong with any of those sources.  Lee Valley is the pinnacle of customer service for most things woodworking related.  They have the grinder tray, however, they do not appear to carry the FEIN MM insert.

Sean Ackerman, who runs Systainerworld, is a member here on FOG and does an oustanding job.  He has the MM insert, I don't see the grinder tray on his site, but I'd bet if you contacted him he'd be able to get it.  YMMV.
Additionally, he offers a FOG coupon code:  "fog20".  I'm pretty certain it is still active.

That's a Systainer 1 with a Fein insert as seen here:  Tanos Insert For FEIN Multimaster

Thanks Corwin.  I think you meant to say Systainer 2 according to the web site.

Of course, if you like everything to match you'll have to also order latches from Festool. Some of us can get anal about things like that.  [big grin]
