I've Midi (about 6 months old) - more than 50% of the time the bag splits when approx 1/3rd full.
it splits immediately behind the hole where the bag is taped to the card.
Nothing going into it you would expect problematic (oak / redwood / MDF / Ash occasionally plaster) from sander(s) / TS55 / Domino / OF1400

This is proving rather expensive in bags & filters, as well as using up time cleaning up the mess!

It's been back to the dealer once, who cleaned thoroughly & fitted new bag & filter, but could see no obvious problem.

How full should a bag get?
Would you expect the bag to fail, or just the efficiency to decrease?
Is it necessary to pre-emptively discard bags, at about 25-30% full, to avoid problems?

i know that my midi bag need changing when the sucton suddenly drops off on i realise that the last 300mm of hose is full aswell as the bag. only split 1-2 bags in 2 years.

Used 2 minis  in a commercial shop every day for almost 3 years... Never had a bag explode on me...
But what happened was, that I pinched the bag while putting it in. Right around the plastic latches. You may even have a sharp corner there.

Check it out.

my bag split in my ct22 partially my fault fitted the bag and notiched i ripped it a little bit but didnt want to waste a bag so i put some tape over it then when i was doing a final clean up of a job i lost suction went back to the yard and openend it up and what a f***ing mess it was it took me 45 mins to take the bag out clean it then remover the filters and use the air line to blast each section of the filter out i wont be doing that again

I split mine, but dont think it was the bags fault. I was considering lining the well with a plastic grocery bag to give the bag "handles" as it were to pull it out. (I've got a CT33)

[size=12pt]I have solved the problem. I have 2 CT 33  1 with the boom 1 without.

I purchased 2 "Oneida Dirt Deputy's", put them  each on a 5 gallon bucket and

they collect at least 95% of all the debris one (as pictured)says in front of the boom,

and the other is strapped behind the CT. Both work wonderfully. [big grin]
