Dear FOGs
As a new guy with a love of the quality of festools, but not much experience yet in using them, I am appealing for advice from the forum about the MFT 1080.
I recently bought a second-hand table in which the factory preset stops on the side rails had been altered. How can I get back to the factopry preset positions? Or do the presets not matter that much? Can I just position the rail over the old, but light, saw cuts, on the table, square the rail up, slide in the stops and fasten them in place?

Hi Khehla and welcome to the forum.

I lost those presets on my tables from almost day one. There are many techniques for what you describe. One approach is to use bench dogs in two of the table holes and then butt the rail against the dogs. With that, you will alignment on each side of the table.

Thanks Rey. That works fine. I have reset the stops.

Very useful to have the stops when moving the rail and its opposite end support back for crosscutting after using it elsewhere.
