Hello,
Not quite sure how to approach prep on this project. Product was a semi-transparent oil stain from Cabot, applied by the carpenters by dipping when it was installed 10 years ago. It's failing via peeling and flaking and it doesn't look like it ever absorbed well into the substrate.
It comes off pretty easily with a gentle pass with a scraper, so it wouldn't be difficult to remove. Just wondering what's the best way to proceed. Clients want a similar color and look, just one that'll hold. Light pressure wash with a stripper/brightener combo? Strip it with one of my Festools?
Thanks for looking!
