Can anyone tell me if they own the FastCap Chopshop Miter Saw Dust Hood and have they used it with the MFT800 or MFT1080?  The saw that I use now is a small Makita miter saw and I am planning to one day to buy the new Festool MFT/3 & the Kapax miter saw.

Would the FastCap Chopshop Miter Saw Dust Hood work with the old MFT and the new MFT and does it make a difference using the Dust hood preventing the dust going all over the place within the work area.

Thank you for your feedback

It works great and would work with any of tha tables. As chris says it just fts in a hole in the table.

As far as MFT use I agree with honkeydokreg simple to use with any table.

As far as actual dust collection, I have one  and I can say a regular dust collector with a 4" port works about twice as well. The Festool vac does work to a point, but if it was between putting the vac hose on the saw of or the Chopshop it would go on the saw.

I tried using a CT 33 with splitter to both Chopshop and tool, the results are okay, still the dust collector on the Chopshop and the Festool CT on the saw gives you the best results by far.

I used the hood with a Bosch 5412L and it caught the big stuff, but the fines mostly got away.  You still need a vac hooked up to the saw discharge to catch the fines.
