Hi,

I was working with my sander yesterday and suddenly the motor slow down and start to warm up.
The motor is now still working but it turns slowly without power and get very hot after some minutes.

I opened the sander and unfortunately I haven't seen any damaged part.
I checked the armature coils with my MM and got 24.2R for one and 25.4R for the second ... is it ok?

How Can I check if something is wrong with the field coil ?

Regards,

Alex

Hi Alex, welcome to the FOG.

I don't know how to measure if the armature is broken, but I do know the symptoms, and what you describe is exactly that of a broken armature.

Only option I know of is to replace it. If you're comfortable servicing your own sander you can simply order the part (493165) from a Festool dealer. Costs €58 here in Holland, sorry, but I can't find any data on Swiss pricing or availability.

Hi Alex ... sounds funny :D

Thanks for your feedback I was not sure if the armature was really in cause .

Actually I'm leaving in France (working in Swiss) but I will order the part directly in  Germany :D
Like usual it's always the most expensive part we have to replace :(
