One of my roles as Moderator is to try and encourage participation from you Foggers.  This has been a fabulous year here.  Membership is up.  Participation is up.  Viewership is up.

How about using this as a place to post about your favorite(s) personal Festool usage moment of the year - or deacde.  Or, your favorite FOG moment(s) or post(s), or your favorite Festool acquisition(s) of the year - or decade.  Or your favorite Festool of all times...

Maybe you should have made the request for the decade also, which is winding down in tandem.  For us newbie's to Festool and the FOG, I think it would enlighten quite a few of us to some past thread gems around here.

My favorite Festool tool and use this year is the OF2200 routing raised panels in a single pass.  The panels are for a paneled wall and they are large, some are nearly the size of a full 4x8 sheet of MDF.  I've got a few more sections to make this week.  My TS55 is close second.  [thumbs up]

Favorite moment was the advanced router class in Lebanon this spring.

Favorite FOG moment is still under way and that was seeing the idea turned, nearly, in to reality. FOGtainers.

My favorite tool has to fall under decade as I have had it for a couple of years of the dozens of tools I own my C12 is the one that comes out of the trailer probably 6 days a week. Week in and week out and never misses a beat. Best money I have ever spent next to the Centrotec set I bought to go with it.  A couple of different sanders would fall a close second.

Well, it happened not long ago - maybe a week ago.  It was the first time using a Domino in a practical application, back at my own shop.  My shop could have burned down and I'd still have that silly grin on my face.  I changed my Facebook "status" to read:  "Whoever said 'money can't buy happiness' never used a Domino."

You should know what my favourite Festool acquisition is then, too.

I haven't been around here for long, but my favourite post was the completely-over-the-top Festool Jobsite Radio Systainer (with the calculator).

Favorite Festool moment: Getting the 'green fever' after discovering this forum and reaching 470 Toolpoints. So favorite moment for 2011 will be spending these points on Festools. ;D

Favorite Festool surprising moment: The cuts my TS 55 and Kapex leave behind. Never thought a tool could that. 

Favorite Festool disappointment: Introduction of the T-loc systainer just after transferring all my tools to about 50 classic systainers.  [crying]

Favorite FOG moment: Participating in the FOGtainer.

Favorite relationship moment: Getting a Festool vac!  [laughing]

Favorite Festool Moment:
Has to be when I turned a raw piece of wood into a custom made window between my hall and dining room using every Festool I own. The OF1400 really shined during that project.  [smile]

Seeing other members projects and picking up a lot of tips on using the TS55.

Favorite Festool Acquisitions:
The OF1400 is one of my favorite tools but I kinda knew it would be since I have owned 2 routers prior to it and simply wanted to upgrade them to the Festool quality and precision. But the TS55 surprised me. It was my first Festool purchase and my first encounter with a guide rail. And after four years of use it still continues to surprise me with it's uses, flexibility and quality. I can even start to miss it when I haven't used it for a while - something I would never admit to in any other forum than this...  [big grin]

Favorite Festool moments:

  - In the router class, running the OF2200 with that big ass roundover bit down a piece of maple in one pass.  Never thought that would work.

  - Discovering the synergy of the Kapex laser and the smooth adjustments on the bevel setter.  I can draw a complex compound angle on a chair part, set the saw with the laser and cut them all dead on.  Used to fiddle for half a hour setting up the blade angle and miter gauge on a table saw and it took a few tries to get it right.

  - The first time I cut sheet goods with the TS55.  Just set up a cutting table on sawhorses next to the pickup, slide a sheet on and make the cut.  Never gonna lift a sheet of plywood again.

  - The realization that I could gang a few sheets of ply together and make the cut once.

  - The realization that I could cut as accurately on the TS55 as I could on the Unisaw, not just 'break sheets down to take to the tablesaw."

Next year's favorite moment (I hope):

Hope to figure a method or jig for siting the Domino on small pieces, like the top of a chair leg, or on a curve.

The November cabinet class in Indy was fantastic - meeting other Festool fans(atics), Festool staff and learning many tips and tricks.  I am looking foward to the advanced router class which is coming up.

Mine was finally make it to the Cabinet class in Las Vegas. I tried early in the year but just missed.
