Fedler FB 610 Bandsaw?

congratulation. [smile]
Lennox would be a good brand to start with. I have few from them and yet did not have any problem. It would be hard for everyone to tell you what to buy because it is up to what are you going to cut but most likely you will need 3 set as ScotF said.
Wait till get the machine, then look in the user manual to get the exact length that you need then custom make it to work perfect for you.
In order to custom make, go to this web site and buy it direct. The prices are reasonable and they ship fast within a week.https://www.bandsawbladesdirect.com/

Enjoy,

I've considered the FB510 a number of times and have also looked at Laguna and Rikon saws.  When I bought my Hammer A3/41 I almost added the FB510 because Felder had a showroom saw available at a discount. Now that I'll be retiring this year I'd like to upgrade from my old Delta 14" saw.  Would you care to share what made you go with the FB 610 vs the 510 or the Hammer versions?

For me it was flywheel and table size. But I also had a Felder years ago and kick myself for selling it. I was so happy with it that I didn't look too hard at others. I might not be a reliable source of information on this front. I went with my gut based on past experience.

I do remember ordering that one and rejoicing when it was scheduled to arrive off the truck (home delivery) when my wife wasn't home. I figured I could slide it into the garage and she'd not notice.

Unfortunately, it was taller than the garage door opening--no such luck! :)

David, congrats on the 61 acres and the new saw.  Do you have a bandsaw now?  If you do, I would keep that saw with a thinner blade for curves and such.  In my perfect shop set up, I would keep my 14" grizzly and the go with a Minimax or Felder for Resawing and other tasks.

No, the one I just ordered will be the only one I have.

I’m thinking you’ve received the FB610 by now and was wondering whether you have any comments to share about it.  Happy with it overall?  Any second thoughts about buying it over a different saw, such as the smaller FB510 or a saw from a different manufacturer?

I’m asking because a Felder rep contacted me about to gauge my interest in a bandsaw.  I’ve been on the fence about it but the price difference has me leaning towards an 18” Rikon or Laguna.

I was in the same boat last year.  If you are pretty tall (i'm 6'2") the Felder/Hammer has a really short table height. It was a deal killer for me.  I ended up getting a PM1500 and am very happy with that purchase.  It was quite a bit more than the Laguna/Rikon but less than the FB510.  It's heavy, rock solid and zero vibration.

Max, I'm completely thrilled with the purchase. Couldn't be happier. I also bought a smaller 12" Rikon--the price was right and all. And it LOOKED great, but the difference in quality is disgustingly deep. Really love the Felder. I think it's probably worth spending money on a great bandsaw once in your life.
