Fein Table-Top and Drill Jigs Support with Vecturo

Does anyone know if the Fein Table-Top and Drill Jigs Support (part # 9 26 02 083 01 0) is compatible with the Vecturo.  If not, is there an alternate solution for making precision vertical cuts with a Vecturo in the way the Fein Adapter allows you to plunge the tool with a drill press stand?

I've had 341 views but nobody seems to know the answer to my question.  :'(

I also tried contacting Klingspor; one of the few companies I could find that is both a Festool dealer and carried the Fein Table-Top and Drill Jigs Support.  All I got back them was a quote straight from their lawyer.  "Festool does not support or condone using third party accessories, Blah, Blah, Blah."  Totally worthless.  [mad]

Does anyone know which Fein Supercut model the Vecturo is?  Then I can simply contact Fein to see if that Supercut model works with the Fein accessory I'm interested in.  There are multiple Supercut Construction models and also the Supercut Automotive line.  My guess is that it is the F.S.C 2.0 Q but I'd like to make sure.

You're going to get much the same answer.

Vecturo is a Vecturo , not a Supercut xxx.xxxx. So no one is likely tell you an exact matchy matchy for certain number.  That is a newish and rare accessory so it's unlikely that anyone has rolled the dice to do exactly what you're asking.

Maybe you can be the pioneer and do a write up here for those that follow.

I believe that the Fein Table-Top and Drill Jigs Support can be used with a Vecturo though I haven't bought one yet to validate this.  There are 2 allen head screws on the Vecturo that hold the collar used for attaching the depth stop and plunge base attachments.  If you remove these 2 screws then the collar can be removed from the Vecturo.  I believe that the 2 threaded holes left on the Vecturo are the same as the holes on Multimaster and can be used to attach the  table-top and drill jigs support. 

Based on this I'll probably buy one of the Fein jigs later this fall and will then know for sure.

I also sent a message to Fein asking if the Supercut construction FSC 2.0 Q would work with the jig but never got a response.

All the Vecturo accessories fit perfectly on the corded, pre-Starlock Supercuts. They do not fit on the cordless or the Starlock models for various reasons, but I have a feeling the table mount would work on the Vecturo. It costs less than many Fein blades to try, so if you really need it, the worst that could happen is you sell it on eBay.

The Fein video of their "drill press" is really neat. I have the Vecturo with the plunge base. With a lot of care and some cleaver jigs, I can do the kind of cuts the Fein accessory enables. If Festool came out with a similar accessory, I'd be darned tempted.

I have the table jig from Fein and it worked with the old and new versions of the MM. I think it works with the Supercut too since the allen screws are in the same position. So, be default I believe it would work with the Vecturo. It is a nice attachment to hold your OMT stationary. I use it for sanding in that mode, especially with small parts.

Now, it is difficult to find a drill stand in North America for whatever reason - I think Amazon might have some, but if you have a source for a good quality one I would be interested. I originally bought it to use in the way they show on the website but could not locate a suitable drill stand in the US.

I've also looked for a good quality portable drill stand. The ones that caught my eye are made by Wabeco. They aren't that expensive I just wonder if they're available in the US. They also fit a 43mm drill collar.

Thanks for this information.  I have had to get some home improvement/repair projects done so this has been moved to the back burner for me, for the moment.  I'm, hoping to give it a try later this fall. 

I did find a bunch of compatible drill presses on eBay.  They were pretty cheap so I expect the quality isn't that high.  However, given that a multi-tool, even with this kind of setup, isn't going to be a precision instrument; the quality may be good enough. 

As I said, I hope to be able to get to this later in the fall and I'll be sure to post back what I find out.

Is only part of this adapter used in the YT video to mount the Multimaster?

I don't see where the clamp and hand screw are used to connect this to the drill
stand. Who makes that particular drill stand anyway, does anyone recognize it?

Edit: Looking at this video it appears to be a Wolfcraft unit.

Amazon...Wolfcraft 5027000...$288.00  I've used the Fein adaptor with my Makita portable drill press stand (doesn't seem to be available any more).  The problem with the Makita and most other low cost solutions is that there is no vertical guide to prevent the mechanism from turning on the column.  There also is deflection in the lowering guide assembly.  Not really great for precision work.

My goal is to start building rustic furniture out of hickory logs.  The first project I would like to tackle is a night stand something like this:

The drawer section needs to fit into the legs by cutting 90 degree cutouts out of the top portion of each leg.  I envision doing that by fitting the oscillating tool, with a wood cutting blade, into the drill press, clamping the hickory branch into place, and plunge cutting the oscillating tool.  Given the irregular nature of a hickory branch this is much more challenging than with standard lumber and plunging the oscillating tool in a drill press seems like a good approach to me.

Slots would be more efficient with a router and a spiral bit.

Of course it's nice to have options, but the expense of this plus the drill stand far outweigh the "what if" and "would be nice" factors in my view. This setup only seems to make sense for the severely space challenged woodworker. Like someone in a studio or one bedroom apartment. And that has to be a very limited market.

This thing reminds me a lot of other Wolfcraft and Rockler products.  Clever solutions looking for a problem, or gee wiz gizmos that appeal to a wheel healed collector more than they serve a function not covered by some other tool. 

But I agree , choice is good.

It simply means YOU don't need one, but someone might as OP explained. People do all kinds of things and have variety of other circumstances. I don't judge them.
Besides, it's a drill stand, it has other uses. I use my Proxxon all the time. One of the best tool investments I ever made.
