First - I am new to the board and glad to find it!

I have just ordered a TS55 saw with some accessories but did not order the vacuum hose.  The saw and order were shipped today, so I will have a new piece of equipment soon.

I also have a brand new Fein Turbo III autostart VS just out of the box a few weeks ago and haven't used it yet other to make sure it worked.  I bought it before I caught the bug to buy a Festool TS55 saw.

Does anyone have experience hooking up the Fein to the TS55?  Is the hose on the Fein too large and/or too heavy.  The Fein did come with an adapter that may step down to the proper connector size but not sure.

Your advice and experience would be very much appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the FOG. I use my TII with my TS 75 all the time. Works great. The hose end slides into the 75 end, mo adapter needed. I'm guessing the 75 & 55 have the same port. Enjoy the new tools.

My Fein came with a 2.5" hose.  I ended up buying their smaller hose--I believe it's the standard hose on their small vacs.  The smaller hose works like a charm without any adapters.  Unfortunately, I really enjoy the Festool anti-static hoses now, so my Fein hasn't seen much use except to vacuum out the car.

Welcome to the FOG,

I used the Fein for the first two years with my TS55 and other festools with no problem. I bought a CT22 because I needed the boom arm for a large sanding project on a wall. They are both fine machines. If you have more money to spend I would go for the tools instead of the vacuum.

Welcome!  I have used a Fein Turbo III with my TS55 since day 1.  The opening on the Fein is 2 1/4, so you do need an adapter or a step-down hose to fit the port on the saw.  I got a Festool hose and it works no problem with the Fein.
