its the first time ive seen another tradesman onsite with festool ever [big grin]

I just pulled out my instruction manual and its stamped 1991.

I was hoping to find a parts diagram - no luck. after a lot of work mine died.

Just a loud pop.

Opened it up and the main capacitor is blown. It's a really unusual dual type, with two power leads input on one end (blown out now),  and three wires coming out the other end.

I have used this PS1E to build boats, but always treated it gently so it is not worn out. on the third platen though. It's a 220V version I run here in the US on a stepup 110V-220V regulated transformer, but I doubt that's why it died. I reckon the Cap is just old.

I feel that way some days. Could not find a part for it yet?
