Just won a nice old festo sander on eBay but can't find much info on it model is ET 2E was just wondering what people's opinions on it mainly going to use it on drywall to save messing up my newer festools

Wondering if It will take a newer backing pad the ones with more holes like the ETS (not the latest pad bit one before)?

And also will it connect to a 27mm hose?

I don't really understand the logic there, as you know your newer Festool sanders will hook up to your extractor without a problem and after you have finished sanding drywall it doesn't take much to clean off the drywall dust from the sander and add fresh paper ready to be used on wood again.

^ Yes, sanding drywall will not mess up any of your sanders. Been sanding drywal with every one of my Festool sanders now for the last 9 years, and it has no effect on them.

The ET2E is the predecessor of the ETS150. Except for looking different on the outside, not that much has changed on the inside. They take the same pads, and also connect to the same 27 mm hose.

It is very old though, at least 17 years. If there's a problem with it you're probably not going to find any spare parts for it.

Remove the pad & you'll see.

Yh that's a fair comment i guess the other reason being I own the Rotex 150 and 90 neither of which are easy to use on walls and ceilings

Meh, my RO90 and RO150 are extremely effective dual action polishers, but I'm
definitely buying a Flex or Rupes at some point because I'm tired of cleaning off the polishing compound when I go back to the wood.
