I also added something on each product's page that will show you the savings there as well.

Hope that helps!

Guys, the wizard put together an awesome list on the site.  As he mentioned... sortable, filterable, searchable, all that good stuff.  They'll be very little need for third party analysis ;) this year as we've had in the past.  The chart is a killer resource this year.  One we've never had before.

I had a question from someone about the absence of the VAC-SYS on our list. Historically, Festool has excluded newly-introduced products from their price increase. So, if you don't see it on the list, it's not included in the price increase or it's something we don't carry, like specialty Festool automotive products.

Are the price increase purely inline with inflation?

Festool don't change the design of their tools very often, nor do they supersede core tools on a regular basis. It seems to me that as a design grows older, most other manufacturers of tools lower the price once they've had their initial return on investment/break even  for a particular product.

Seems to me like a stealth tax. Surely Festool could just suck up the cost of inflation by balancing it against products that have long ago paid their way and are now just cash cows?

Why is there yet another increase? Doesn't seem that long ago that there was another increase.

Every April 1 for the last 2-3 years that I know of (N America anyhow--)

Obviously I could be wrong but wasnt the last one last year? Or wait, maybe it was two years ago.

Still though, why? Technology isn't changing, but, I guess if you can and customers will still pay then might as well.

Have you seen our prices compared to Canada, Australia, New Zealand and others?  Overall, we have it pretty good... Believe it or not!

Cheers. Bryan.

I haven't but that kinda makes me feel better. Be appreciative Stan!

Why?

Unfortunately, in response to the question, I think the simple answer is "because they can." This policy has no relationship that I can discern* to general inflation or exchange rates--the dollar has greatly appreciated against the Euro and other currencies the past few years.

I understand and respect Festool's decision to fully charge what their market will bear. I also feel no hesitancy to buy elsewhere when it is to my advantage. I don't like the inverted logic of claiming that a buyer is "saving" if they buy a tool they don't really need under threat of the increase. But I don't sell tools :-D

* Festool may offer one and I've simply missed it :-D

What I don't under stand why not the increase flat across the board? Why some tools 3% and others any 1.7%? Festool is a pretty crappy this way. Seems like a snake oil salesman to me.

Length of production has little to do with price increases. The cost of doing business goes up every year for most production companies, employees expect pay rises, utilities companies increase costs, councils increase rates and the people you do business with in general increase their costs, so it's a knock on effect, every company will have a margin to retain.

Yeah, which speaks to the "what the market will bear" theory.  I notice that the Carvex increase is only 1.4%

I used the price increase last year as an excuse to pop for the ETS 50/3, but not sure if it will push me over the edge this time.

I was going through the list and noticed some things not listed at all such as drills and the OF2200. Are there prices staying the same as last year?

If it's not on the list, there is no price increase.

If you guys would prefer, I can certainly make the list include the ones with no increase. Just let me know. This is a tool to help you make a good buying decision.

Are there any items that came down in price?  I know in the past some items the prices came down.  The big one last year was drills and batteries.  Just remember with the prices going up you tools you own are worth more.  When the Domino was released in 2007 it was $660.  People can actually sell their used tool for more than they paid for it.
