Festool 2020 news

Got two of the new Systainer³ M Organizers with 22 containers.
They match perfectly with regular T-Loc Systainers (of course!).
Pitty there is no handle on top of the lid. Thus they always have to be under a T-Loc.
And in my opinion the Festool logo is upside down?
Though a very nice build systainer.

How did you get those already? Are you from Europe? Lucky!

Depends on how you look at it, the only time its not upside down is when its stored vertically or you’re carrying it by the handle.  At that point, the only people who can see it is everyone else but you. Not sure that matters to me

They have started to show up in Europe, yes. I got hold of the last M size they had at a large dealer. It was one of the empty ones, so I bought all sizes of the inserts. As it happens, it was wiser as I can more easily adopt to my needs. The systainer as Neeleman says, is very well made, me to misses the handle on top... and of course, the logo is to show off when carrying and from the back when the lid is open  [big grin] I have really missed a well made compact system for screws, so when I saw this I knew that I would buy one (or two). It was well worth the wait.

May I suggest you look into the Auer product line. Very well made and a lot cheaper than the FS’s.

To me this would be a major downside. When carrying systainers, I like to stack them as much as possible to make fewer trips. I wonder how long Tanos will continue to make T-locs.

Did the sortainers not meet your needs for this in the past ?

The new Festool sortainers have transparent lids (which is new to the range) and use a modular system of boxes and a kind of pattern on the bottom to hold them in place. Which is exactly what the Auer boxes do, which makes this a kind of Samsung/Apple thing. Festool (that is Tanos) probably saw what Auer (and others?) did & have adapted it to their system.
Systainers etc. comply to a European (maybe worldwide) system of sizes (Euronorm, based on what shipping pallets measure), to be more precise they fit into a 300*400 mm footprint (with packaging exactly); and other products use that same metric. So, the Auer boxes have the same footprint.

Besides, Auer have been on the market with their system for quite a while now. And when I wanted to organize my shop they had the solution I needed. : )

So that means that AGAIN we have to resort to purchasing these outside the US and bringing them in ourselves?
Have these people not learned anything from the Grey Market imports of Cars, Cameras, Electronics... ???

If you are asking about the Festool tables, it has been written here that there are no immediate plans to bring these to market in North America.

@festool ww

Any TKS SET video in the works? Curious about the sliding table and Fence. Seems slightly different then the CS70...

Nice! Ill probably import the Angle stop FS-WA/90° when it becomes available and I love the worktable idea but they are nuts with their pricing, so Ill definitely be passing on that!

There are some new sand paper kits for the rotex 90 and the 125 mm sanders that come in the systainer boxes with the correct insert. Numbers Festool 576676 and Festool 576677

If I'm not mistaken the new table saw with sawstop technology is coming to North America eventually. Maybe Festool USA or Festool Canada confirmed it. This would have been a long time ago I thought I saw this.

Speaking of TID 18 it will come in one basic, 2 plus, and 2 set kits. The basic is impact without batteries and chargers. The plus kits you get the optgion between 2x 3.1 batteries or 2x 4.0 batteries. The first set kit includes a pdc, 4.0 slim battery, 5.2 battery. Another with a t18 with 2x 3.1 slim batteries. The interesting thing is the pdc and t18 kits do not include centrotec chucks

I got to have a play with the new TID 18 yesterday and had a look at the new foldable sheet handling table.

The TID kit was the one with the compact 3.1 ah batteries and the T18, all in the same Systainer. As you said, there is not Centrotec option for the impact driver, but the Festool Rep did have a specific Festool impact bit holder in the systainer case. .....A nice short impact compatable bit holder.

The folding support table was smaller when all folded up than I had anticipated it would be. It looked well thought out and nice quality.
We didnt have the time to set it up and try it unfortunately, as I was busy and the Rep had another appointment to get to.....

Overall,  first impressions of both items,..... Really Good!

Great if you can get it without paying the VAT. Other wise you will pay quite a bit more.

And vice versa (TSO -> overseas). 80 USD for international shipping? Then import. Brings this to an easy 300 USD jig.  Right.  Rather have the FT  version for ~ 120 USD.

Has Festool posted the price yet? I did a cursory search but couldn’t find one.

FS WA 90

In Europe it's listed. List price is 160 EUR. I ordered it for ~ EUR 107.
