Did it just show up on USA site or was it there before? I known that UK is getting them next month.

It was only recently added.  I received at least 2 or 3 emails from retailers today telling me that it's going to be released soon.

Yes, cordless (battery) only. They were announced in North America just this morning.

Does anyone know if 5.2a batteries will work with this unit?

I don't know this for a fact but from the picture, it looks like the 5.2 batteries are too thick to fit.  I am ordering one for sure, have been waiting for something like this.

I am disappointed that this is not a hybrid that can be powered from either the
batteries or from mains power and when not powered up recharge the batteries.

That would have been a nice touch and you wouldn't have to haul around the extra Duo Charger, just a power cord.

That was my thinking too. Does the charger store in the vac?

If yes then it seems a built-in charger/power supply would have fit too.

Not on the CTC SYS, but there is an optional pocket to hang on the CTC MIDI.

As mentioned above, only the 4.0Ah or 3.1Ah flat pack batteries will work. The 5.2Ah will not fit onto the extractor.

Although it's not the Duo charger which is coming to the US market in 2023 - a good option for picking up a charger and pair of 4.0 batteries is the Plus version of T18-E drill. At $299, it goes for less than purchasing the included TCL 6 charger and pair of batteries separately.

In addition to the T18-E drill, you also get a systainer at no additional cost.

This just appeared on the FFX website in the UK. Over $700 including 4 x 4.0Ah batteries and charger. For a 4.5-litre vac. Ouch. I guess that many purchasers will already be invested in the Festool battery platform though - so cost of the basic machine won’t be so scary. But for others - I think they’ll be looking elsewhere.

Just going by the advertisements i received, the $700.00+ package appears to only have two of the 4.0 batteries.

In the UK, it's definitely four batteries plus a double charger. The set number over here is 576945.

Battery only, either 4.0 or 3.1 18 volt Li batteries.

Hehe, is the 3.1 based on 18650's? That is definitely gonna give reduced performances compared to the 4 Ah 21700 based batteries. Higher density 18650's aren't really suited for high-drain applications like this thing. I read 20 minutes on full power with 2x 4 Ah.
