Festool announced a update version from the OF 1010 ebq (calld: OF 1010 rebq)

Oh nice. I never thought about that being present or not in the previous OF1010

One of the more subtle modifications to this new router is the inclusion of a magnetic safety switch so if mains power is lost and you forget to turn off the router, once mains power is restored this thing won't fire up by itself and beaver out what ever it's next to.

However, this then begs the question of while they had to enter the belly of the beast to include this new feature, adding LED's probably wasn't that much of a further stretch.  [scratch chin]

The safety switch is a huge plus I think, glad to see someone finally add this to a router.
Hopefully this will be incorporated into the whole router lineup in their next refresh.
For me, being in an area that often loses power in a T-storm, the new switch is welcome.

Yes, also sad that no LED lights were included. One miracle at a time I guess. :-)

Expect this “NVR” type switch to be incorporated into OF 1400 as well, I’ve seen “New” on the OF 1400 lately. Presumably just the switch along with a new part no’.

I noticed it is on back order in the US, presumably the part no’ will change when available again.
OF 2200 will probably also have this silent upgrade.

Anybody on this side of the Atlantic got one yet ?

The one thing that is concerning is that the description I am reading is  "It has routing depth adjustment to 1/256" (1/10mm) "

I sure hope the depth scale isn't in 64th or 256th of an inch.

Can anybody confirm how the depth scale on the OF 1010 REQ-F-Plus-US is graduated ?

Someone already posted the picture, but for reference I believe that the "-F-" in the part number stands for "Fractional", aka "Inches".
