Festool announces new products for US, available June 1st!

What happened to the TSX for the USA?

No official announcement from Festool USA about the TXS, at least not yet. Generally, tools show up in the US about 6-12 months after their European debut. So, maybe we'll see it before the end of the year. Might have to add that one to my collection too!

I've already made a place for the TSX's Sustainer.

I just can't imagine needing (wanting) either of the two new drills just announced. My T18 fills all my heavy duty drilling needs and my TI15 does the all the percussion driving jobs and my Bosch SDS does the very few concrete drilling I do.

Snagging a new Festool cordless drill, or maybe already have one? Well, we've just knocked 20% off the Centrotec Set BASIC. A great addition to the stack and a highly sought after limited time item. Once they're gone, we're out until the next time Festool brings them in, which has been every few years.

Get 'em while they last!

Today's the day! We've got new tools going out the door to everyone who pre-ordered. Free shipping on all Festool orders from http://www.festoolproducts.com.

Enter our June sweepstakes for a chance at a SysLite. Drawing for the winner on the 15th to ship for Father's Day.

I will announce our DTS 400 winner later today after I send him an email. Looks like the winner is in the San Fran area.

Got my PDC today!  Thanks Tool Nut!!

It was a bit banged up in transit but so far it checks out ok. Some scraped metal and mashed up plastic but it seems ok mechanically.

My 5,2 Ah sticker is different than I have seen and it is not screened on, it is an actual sticker on the TLoc.

Cheers. Bryan.

Bryan,

If your drill/Systainer are up to snuff, let us know and we'll get it right for you. Glad you got it quickly. Looking forward to a quick review or initial impressions.

yikes--that does not sound too great.  at least the latch sticker arrived unscathed.  you'd think that after all the kudos Bob M. received over the years on his plentiful and careful packing, other dealers would follow suit, especially since the systainer walls are not what they used to be.  i suppose "unparalleled" means different things to different people...

at least you got it pretty quick, bryan.  it sounded like you were anxiously awaiting the new goodies.  enjoy.

as an aside, i wonder why the festool usa site is not updated with all the new offerings--i went there to compare some specs earlier and couldn't find the new drills.

Got the cxs battery and installer kit today. Thanks for the fast shipping.

Festool USA is sadly Shane-less. Don't think anyone has fully stepped into his role yet.

Hey Teocaf!

It has been a while my friend.

I don't think this has anything to do with the packaging, the systainer was very nicely packed, it had styrofoam corners on all eight and was nice and snug in the box.

I think it is more the layout inside of the Sys that is more the issue. The right angle attachment was "floating around" inside and I think that + UPS = scratches. I will put it through its courses this weekend to make sure it doesn't grind down or overheat. I am not so concerned with the cosmetic scratches as this is replacing my 10+ year old Milwaukee v28 drill. Pretty substantial difference in size and weight!!

This isn't a collector tool to sit on a shelf, it is my new workhorse...

Cheers. Bryan.

I guess you're not a Tool Nut customer, huh?  [poke]

Dang, thought slapping the UPS label on the Systainer would be adequate... [tongue] I joke, but there is a dealer that has done that. It's in our best interest to protect product from damage in transit. It costs us money and creates a bad experience for the customer when something arrives sub-par.

We use best practices in packaging to protect the Systainers, just as Bryan described. But once it's in the hands of the courier, all bets are off. We've all seen the videos of packages getting thrown around.

Sometimes scuffs/blemishes in transit occur before the tools even get to Festool USA's warehouse from Germany. Drills seem more susceptible for some reason.

As always, we'll fix anything that doesn't meet a customer's expectations quickly.

One other thing...  The PDC doesn't seem to come with that Festool smell. It smells like a regular old drill. Very strange to open the box and not smell that.

I partially kid about it (meaning I don't care about the smell) but it is strange!

I think the Smell comes from the power cord. If you go smell one i think that is what makes a festool smell.
