Festool announces their version of the MFTC

I'm just hoping some of the "bits" are made quickly available as spare parts...  [popcorn]

I have been using the MW1000 "rolling workshop" for a few weeks on a project now.

I am pretty pleased with it. I was not even interested at first, especially given the price.

At first I just got me the extension table to use in the workshop with the MFT3 - and it was pretty much perfect as an extension table and I use it a lot. I even toyed with the idea of getting another extension table - not the whole kit.

Then I realized the current project - and the next one - is pretty much perfect for this. I am building acoustic panels on site and go from room to room building panel walls with lots of rails that come together with the Domino. The Domino runs hot on this project!

Now I do my stuff, pretty much all relevant tools on board, the rest tucked underneat the table in separate Systainers on a roller. Then I just fold it up and roll to the next room and "set up shop".

Though it isn't perfect, it is a better solution for me than anything else currently on the market. I might even bring out the extra extension table to the work site since a lot of the rails and stiles are around 2500mm long.

I still think it is on the expensive side and I have another rolling cart with a foldable Stanley workbench that takes more of a load on one go for some jobs but the Festool MW1000 set works great for me for most of the jobs.

I also bought the extension table to use with the MFT/3 and it is great. Works much better than a Kapex extension. Regarding its price: I bought in thru a German online shop and saved quite a bit compared to the list price. Currently the extension is connected to the offcut side op the MFT/3. On the other side I have a VL. Total table length is almost 3 meters (10 foot). Lots of flat space to fill up : )

It works well as an outfeed table for the TF2000 (router in CMS unit). It fits the profile but does not lock down due to the CMS profile not being the same as the MFT on the bottom edge. I haven't made a fix for it yet but since it fits the profile on the upper side a pair of clamps holds it secure to the CMS-GE unit. When I get the other extension table back from the project I have both an infeed and an outfeed table.

I made a MDF insert for my other MFT3 fitting the Forca Edgebander - the MW1000 extension table works very well as an outfeed table for that contrapment. :)

I see the MW1000 kit as a much better SYS-Roll with a worktable.

EDIT: I bought the MW1000 with parts of a bonus/credit and the extension table with a discount. I would have hesitated to buy at list price but after using it for a while I would consider it sort of / kind of worth it for my type of work.
