If this has been posted before, or elsewhere, forgive me for the duplication.

The 2008 JLC Live conference/show takes place next weekend, 3/26-3/29, in Providence, Rhode Island at the Rhode Island Convention Center, and Festool is this years Premier Sponsor!

I have no idea what is, or will be, on display, nor if there are any "deals" to be had.  Regardless, although I am not a contractor, I'm a software "engineer" ;D by trade, I try to attend the JLC Live show at least every other year.  I consider it a true learning experience.  Software people could learn a LOT from carpenters/contractors, and the opposite is also true to a certain extent.

Free tickets to the exhibit floor are available from various vendors, etc...

Hope to see you there.

That's a great idea (taking photos).  It'll give me another chance to play with my camera.

I'm almost "green and gray" with envy.  In Ohio, the once-per-year major show is the The Woodworking Show, and that is in January when the winds blow the snow or cold rain around.  I have to drive ~150 miles one way to attend, and pay and never get to see any Festool products, unless I bring my own.  The best Festool demos I get are when Hartville Tool has their Fall and Mid-winter tool sales with factory representatives demonstrating Festool and other products.  But the range of Festool demos necessarily has to be limited to the basics, and repeated them many times.  I did succeed in getting the Festool Rep to demo a few things using an MFS 400 with a 1400 router, and that caused a small crowd to assemble and watch, more than the basic demos of TS55 (or TS 75), RO 150, and 1400 router.

GreenGA,
Thanks for posting about this.  Providence is not too far from me, so I might try to make it down there.

If anyone does attend this show (or any other show where Festool has a booth set up), please take photos!  I have an album in our Gallery dedicated to show shots:http://www.festoolownersgroup.com/CoppermineMain/index.php?cat=2

Matthew

I would urge anyone within driving distance to make this show.  I've been for 4 years running and it's always a blast.  It's aimed at contractors but an avid DIYer can pick up a lot of tips, as well as good deals on tools.

The new Festools are pretty much out of my range right now but you can bet I'll be at the booth watching what's up!!

I'm a bit tight in the money department at the moment myself.  However..., it was my birthday this past Sunday and JR offered to attend the show with me so "we" can see what Festool has to offer that's new and, perhaps, take advantage of any available specials.  ;D

Dont'ja just love someone like that? :D :D :D

Shane, will any of the mentioned tools be available to purchase?

Hammurtime / All,

As far as I know, the MFK 700, MFT/3 and OF 2200 will not be available for purchase until May 1st.  Festool USA has decided to end direct sales to customers so you must purchase from dealers.  Typically one or more Festool dealer will attend these types of shows and some of them may be willing to take preorders.
