Just a heads up for those Down Under.

Festool AUST has another Facebook Competition to Celebrate 50 years of the Rail. Prize is a $500 Festool Voucher.

Also if you complete their survey, you could win either a T55, RO150 or a Midi.

If you have a registered email address with them you would have got this information earlier this week.

How's that for irony ... finishes on the 9th and I won't have a shot at even touching my guide rails till the 10th [sad] [crying]

So... I got an email today saying that the competition has been cancelled due to "lack of participation", and I was told I wasn't the only entrant (which I'm quite sure I wouldnt' be).

They are sending a Festool fan pack out to the entrants as a "Thankyou".

Surely none of our entries were so bad as to not even warrant someone getting the $500 voucher? [scared]

If you were the one entrant you should get the prize ... not a cancellation letter and a consolation "thank you". That's appalling [mad]

I had intended to get a photo in but wanted to take a better shot and never got around to it..  Then forgot to get what I had in in time.  Shame there was not enough interest.

I did think they wanted to much information though about what when how you were using your rail.  Just posting a creative photo of your rail would have generated much quicker responses I feel.
Frankly having to set up a shot of me using the rail was hard, and the main reason I failed to send one in.  The shot I was going to send was of the rail and my TS55

Hopefully this doesn't impact to much on future comps.

Swag arrived this morning [AEST], shirt, cap and stubby holder. But the nice surprises were three pencils and folding ruler.
[smile]

Still, $500.00A Festool Voucher may have been of greater practical use. However given the circumstances the goodwill swag is appreciated. Other companies in similar circumstances may have just said 'tough!'

My consolation prize was only got a TSC55... ;D Just kidding.

Yeap - the same pack arrived for me today, and on a side note was trying to figure out in what circumstances is a folding rule better than a tape measure.

Used my old one today whilst installing roller blinds. The main benefit, like most folding carpenters rulers, is that you do not have to account for movement in the tape measure's tip. Use it a lot in the shop, for example cross checking rail guides.
