i was using on the job this thursday it started to slow down as i was going to cut then all of a sudden just stopped.
ive taken the side casing off and theres a small green wire just sitting there everything is in situ just casing taken off can someone help? has anyone got an exploded view ive looke on the ekat and its not clear maybe i could post a pic on here but has anyone had the same problem?

Looks like it's supposed to be soldered on the right terminal on the motor (yellow wire is attached to the left terminal).

Honestly, if you don't know EXACTLY what you're doing with it, send it in to Festool. Even if the wire simply appears to have come off by appearance, the solder joint could actually have melted due to a different problem.

the wire has no residue if solder on it ive tried attached it. its only so long so can only try to reach certain points. anyone got an exploded view

Well, the good news is that green wire is taped onto the motor housing on mine, but not connected to anything.  So your issue lies elsewhere.  The bad news is I sheared the head off a screw taking mine apart.  For some reason that one screw was jammed in there good (only bites into plastic, so not sure why).

Yes the green wire gets taped to the motor housing as far as I can tell. I assume its a type of ground, for what I don't know.

My carvex locked up on me 40 days after purchase, I was able to re-seat the pendulum/gear head no problem. But that green wire definitely baffled me.

I've worked on quite a few power tools and never seen any wiring taped on or wedged in place.
