Hi colleagues again. This weekend I definetly decide to devote myself to improvement of my tool set. I was a bit perplexed about absence of regular tilted base of so cool jigsaw as Carvex is. So... nothing to do, I need it then forced to make by myself. Of course it is not industrial quality  base - it is just my homemade replica.

I really could have used this a few weeks ago when I was cutting skirting for my stairs and I needed to back cut it.  I don't have the multi base kit for my Carvex but I could tell by the design of the offered tilted base that it would have proved useless. Nice job.

Original Festool two side counter tilted base is a cool option for some corner operations but for classic using has too less surface. And what even more important it can't work with zero insert. This feature I need almost always. Without this transparent insert I would spoil my workpieces.

Very well done!

Ive never understood why festool havent made a single bevel base.

Festools one is a nice bevel base but its no good for back bevel scribing from above.  Tottally useless.... Unless your scribe is external curving only lol.

Clever...really nice job, I especially like the hole/peg arrangement for joining pieces. [thumbs up]

What make & model is your CNC?

Mirock, you're the best!

I do worry about the amount of strain on the pivot.
Seems like it should be as close to the blade as possible.

Excellent!  Another great invention by you.

Really well designed and executed.

When are you ready to take orders for them!?  I'd be interested!

He'd have to charge more than a Carvex costs! The video was sped up a little... [big grin]

You are right. First I wanted to make two arches and longer pivot but in this case I would lose space for dust collection which I also wanted to place here. So I can instal not weack and thin standard tube but large one. But just in tilt. I decide to try one arch. Aluminum parts is pretty thick and it doesnt play. But I think it could bend if we get strong kick or falling. For this case I dont have excessive strenght.

Yes, this joint is deadly strong like full solid body. Cyanacrilate just to fill the clearance and fix. And not so boring like usual screws.

I don't know yet). It is too raw. I didnt have such plans

Mirock - you should have it anodized in dark blue and green - then there will be even more FOGers that can't wait to have one  [big grin]

This is really great work. It is a shame that it is necessary. :)

Festool could "easily" make a regular tilting base - and if they did I would get one instantly. I had all the extras but sold it off because I think the Carvex is simply not good enough but I kept the saw for intermittent use and my main gripe is the lack of a simple, ordinary tilting base.

One suggestion is to chamfer the edges slightly on that alu base.
