This Centotec system looks a lot better than the 07, 08, and 09 sets but does not yet appear on the Festool UK site.

It is advertised on Ebay (Germany) so it is obviously out in Europe, anyone know when it will be released in the UK?

[embarassed] [embarassed] [embarassed]

Oh man, I searched that before I posted this thread and couldn't find anything!!!

Me with a computer is like a five year old with a shotgun!!! [scared] [scared]

Thanks for showing me!!

I would gladly pay $296.00 USD for that set here in the U.S.  [big grin]

Oooops! [blink]

I feel poor old Shane is about to get a hard time (again!)

Surely there is no way this cant get past that UL mafia? Or perhaps they dont feel there is enough demand?

Have you had the 07, 08, and 09 sets on your side of the pond?

GBP 220 including VAT, compared to E350. At current exchange rates, the GBP price in euros would be about E260, so the Brits seem to be getting an awesome deal.

How about 427 euro inc. VAT on mainland Europe? I don't understand where this price difference comes from.

The last centrotec set in the states was $380, a couple of years ago. That set sold out pretty fast. Festool is not known for reducing it's prices, they are however, quite well known for raising them. If a centrotec set ever makes it to our American shores again, judging from Festool history, the only direction the price will go is North.

Yeah, the English get it cheaper than those on the mainland. Even when VAT is left out of the picture. Mind you, VAT is a national tax and differs from country to country in Europe. Germany and Holland have 19%, Belgium 21% and the British have 17.5% right now. Some countries even have 25%.

For you guys outside the Schengen zone it is possible to buy VAT-free from European dealers. But shipping will be expensive.

The Centrotec 2010 set was already discussed here as well:
http://festoolownersgroup.com/festool-tools-accessories/centronic-bit-sets-europe/

There is also a Protool Centrotec set. Well, multiple to be honest  [cool]
Protool 637579 is one of them.

It seems to be a nice set, but the price..  [eek]

Someone also mentioned here on FOG that it will be a permanent item.

Yeah, Norway is the only country in Europe that Festool is not run by Festool, hence the price for a T15+3 is 600 uk money + 25 % tax = 750 witch is something like < $1200 bucks
and that for the cheepO set without everything.

Perhaps Festool couldn't find enough competent women to appoint as manager. Haha, Norway and it's stupid laws.

But you could always import it from Germany itself. Look on eBay for example. This guy: http://myworld.ebay.nl/84056gerschwitz/ has basicly all Festool products in stock and ships for 14,90

Amazing day.

1. Beautiful weather here in Montreal.
2. Canadian Thanksgiving Day.
3. I received an email from Festool UK informing me that my centrotec set 2010 has just shipped.

[drooling]

Richard, do you happen to know if we in the U.S. can order the 2010 set through the same channel that you did?

Sorry Ron, I'm not sure how the UK dealers' contract with Festool works, as I am picking up my set in the UK when I visit. I used Toucan Tools near London- very knowledgeable about the product line and friendly over the phone.

I would guess the shipping charge to the US from the UK for a sys 1 packed with bits is quite pricey, or maybe not? I sent a long tube packed with plans from here to the UK for $35. If UK dealers are able to send Festool stuff to the US, I think the centrotec 2010 set is going for a great price in the UK.

I wonder how many systainers I can get in a suitcase without the missus noticing?!!

I had a look at this set in Axminster yesterday, I have to old systainer with all the Centrotec stuff in it which I have to say is very useful.

The new one at Axminster comes in at £267.00, rather a lot I thought, but have to say it looks very neat. I guess I'll be staying with the old one at that price.

I used to travel to the UK fairly regularly, I guess I missed my chance although in those days I had no idea what a "Festool" even was...  [unsure]
