I got this set AGES ago in a systainer!  A deal!  Never would of bought it other wise! Well Im glad it didnt pay full price!

I have been using my air powered brush head ((Turbo combination suction brush)) http://www.festool.co.uk/Products/Accessories/Pages/Detail.aspx?pid=450644&name=Floor-nozzles-D-36-TKB  which is the same one as the festool one I have linked to but  I only payed about £40 for is all because it doesnt have the festool sticker!

Annoying thing is I cant find it for that price now they are all in the £100  [crying] If I had known I would of bought about 4 as spares! Any way I also got a solid metal bar.   Well the Festool hose fits it perfectly!    Love it works very well!

Now getting to the point!  I have only now decided to use Festool Cleaning set2 day!  With the Metal head brush and separate sectioned metal bar!  I love the fact its not one solid bar cus I can store it in a systainer unlike my other solid bar! BUT  my problem with it the festool hose doesnt fit it properly!  Its to tight after using it for a while it stretched my hose end and when using it on TS or Kapex it isnt as snug fit!      ANOTHER BIG CRAPPY thing about it is the section which goes into the metal brush head doesnt seal!   You can hear air escaping from it all the time!  Rubbish!

Then actually using it on concrete floor! cleaning up is poor!  You set the wheels to heigh it doesn't pick up well!  if you set the wheels to low it bounces as you drag it back!

I think its a pile of crap!   NO NO WAY it is worth £177!  a JOKE!

NO NO ONE EVER BUY IT! Trust me a PILE OF CRAP! CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP!      £177!   I its a JOKE! Seriously!  Worth about £40 quid as a set! Cus you get a T-loc with it

Stick it on ebay - some mug will buy it and you may even get more than you paid for it!

I wish I had never used it so it was like new still! Used it for couple days to give it a test run!  Rate it 2 out of 10

I get the impression this stuff is sourced and resold - not Festool engineered.

I've got a D36 kit in a Sys5 with metal handle but plastic head. Still haven't used the pieces because my older cleaning kit is fine (really only got the new one for the hose and the systainer). I'll dig it out and see if I have the same poor fit on the hose.

I bought one and I think it works very well -- I think I did a review on it here a few years ago.  The fit of the hose is tight, but it works and I find it cleans up concrete and low pile carpet very well.  I don't have any air escaping anywhere either.

Ill have do do a video  some how showing you the air escaping its that bad it will suck up dust so ill be able to show you actually so maybe this weekend ill do a quick video!

It it crap! Maybe your lucky or I am unlucky but  the one I have is the worst pile of crap I have used and so not worth £127

It sounds like something is messed up where the hose connects as I definitely do not have any air escaping...the fittings all fit tightly but I think mine works exceptionally well and I am glad I have it -- makes cleaning up the floor in my shop a breeze.  Would love to see a video to see where the air is escaping.

JMB,

I've been using the 497701 Workshop cleaning set along with the 450644 Plastic turbo suction brush, alternating between the turbo brush and the regular aluminum floor nozzle.  I've used it on many different types of floor surfaces without the problems you've been having.  Maybe we got the updated version in North America and you got the guinea pig model again.  [tongue]
