Hi
I have the Festool 203158 CMS-GE Router Table Set which is great but I want to expand its usefulness and want to use my TS 55 REQ track saw and my Carvex PS 420 EBQ jigsaw. I want to make sure I get the correct inserts so let me know if this sounds correct:

For the Track Saw
My Festool 575387 TS 55 REQ Plunge Cut Track Saw will fit in the:
Festool 570281 CMS-TS 55 R Module

For the Jig Saw
My Festool 561593 Carvex PS 420 EBQ Jigsaw will fit in the:
Festool 561262 CMS-PS Module
BUT.....
I need Festool 497303 Guide Rail Base for Carvex Jigsaw to mount it to the CMS-PS

Does that sound correct? The other question is do those two inserts come with the parts to arm the tools in continuous operation. The little clip that keep the tools trigger switch in the on mode?

Any other recommendations, comments, or concerns on adding these two models would be super helpful.
Thanks!
:)

It's the right information, but the modules aren't available in the US, and the CMS system has been discontinued in other territories. If you're intending on getting some, I'd move quick to secure some of the final stock. The CMS OF modules are already gone in the UK; difficult as anything to get hold of now. I expect the other modules will quickly follow suit.

Hi,
The same goes in Scandinavia as I UK. There are few modules left, if none at all with dealers...

Just yesterday I had a 12 hour round trip  to Sweden, buying the very last CMS-TS 75 module and a CMS-PS module. They are not allowed to ship abroad, therefore I decided to make the trip instead. So your best option is to watch for private sales. German dealers do also not ship outside EU.

I can confirm that the guide rail adaptor for Carvex; 497303 Guide Rail Base for Carvex Jigsaw  do come with that little plastic thingy on a leash inside the box. Although, this is not mentioned, or pictured on the box from Festool:

Thanks fellas! I appreciate all the advice and it is reassuring to know that I am buying the correct part. I am going to be in Aviano next week and it is always super hard with the language barrier to figure out if I’m getting the correct part.

One last question for the experts:
I need the rear extension table for my CMS table. I am planning on using my INCRA LS mounted on my Festool 494369 Kapex Miter Saw Crown Stop With Base Extension with my new setup. Like in the photo bellow. I believe I also need to add Festool VB-CMS Extension Table 493822 to do this. Does that sound correct?
Alternatively it looks like I can buy Festool 495531 Extension Table VB-CMS/CS 50 which comes with legs but costs twice as much. Can you use the VB-CMS/CS 50 attached to the MFT and the insert plates like CMS-TS 55 R?

Again thanks for all the help!

Hi, I cannot speak for the Incra LS, as I have and use the LA-CS 50/CMS which has micro adjustment and locks in both ends. This I find very good, therefore considering to buy the one that is for both CS 70, MFT/3 and MFT/3 VL-CMS as well. The Incra LS seems to add a lot of bulk
and added the need for the crown stop...

But I have both “VB” tables, one came with my Precisio CS 50 Set. The VB-CMS/CS 50 has legs, and do attach to anything that has the Festool “V” grove. So it can be hooked to MFT/3, Precisio CS 50/70 (Although the LA-CS 70/MFT/3 cannot be used as the “50” is shorter) It does do my GE tables and CS 50 much more stable than just the VB-CMS which hangs on the GE or CS 50.
The VL table is an outfeed table which hangs on the GE or CS 50 as well. The table with legs is preferable if bulk isn’t an issue!

I’m just experimenting, but the TS modules, as well as the PS module will slip into the VB-CMS/CS 50 table with legs. You will however need to make two new ends to the table - the ones that comes with the table is in plastic (and can to some extent be altered) My plan is to do two new ends in plywood, one with integrated T-track and the other end a thin ruler (the original FT ones might fit...) The old CMS-OF table requires the underside support profile to be slightly filed off a few Millimeters, it wouldn’t affect the module as it is just tiny amount of the profile at the bottom.
I can provide some photos of the tables later, if interested?

That is very interesting [emoji3]. I like the idea of using the VB-CMS/CS 50 table with legs as both a table to widen the CMS and as a possible second CMS to attach to my MFT table and use my modules in it like the Festool 570281 CMS TS 55 module.

My current setup is a cast iron router table attached to my MFT but it is HEAVY and not very practical so I am looking to replace it with the CMS system. But I do love my INCRA LS so I want to keep that part cuz it’s awesome.

Thanks for the help!

Very cool setup!

How do you attach your router table to your MFT/3?  I've been thinking of doing something similar but not with a cast iron table and haven't figured out how to connect the table to the MFT/3.

Thanks in advance!

Yes, I am interested in how you are connecting them together as well.  I have the Benchdogs cast iron top and just built a 8020 MFT-style table and want to do like you with my Incra LS Positioner.

Thanks

I'm looking for a CS 70 LA also and would appreciate anyone willing to ship one to the US?

I used a couple of brackets I bought from Rockler (bought at woodcraft) and a couple of aluminum plates to connect to the lower track on the MFT. I then bought a aluminum L channel to fill the gap between the table and the MFT.

I used it to build a bunch of shaker doors/drawers for my kitchen and to build drawer boxes using half blind dovetails out of hard maple. It worked well for that project BUT (here comes the bad stuff) it is very heavy and cumbersome making it not at all portable. Also because all that weight is up on those small legs it is not as solid as I would like. With no in-feed or out-feed it is a small work area. Finally the Festool CMS sliding table (492100) looks awesome. Just want to provide my honest experience and why I am looking at the CMS to replace it.

I thought this was available in the US - If not, Festool USA should. It is compatible with MFT/3 and CMS-VL MFT/3 as far as I know.
You may try Axminster, although anything Festool they cannot ship outside EU..

Just an FYI.  If you should find a way to get a CS 70 shipped here thru whatever means, you most probably will have issues in case of support, warranty, parts, and repairs.

Yes,
Thank you both.  I need a private party to send me one and it would be great to find a used one.
Not concerned about parts or warranty. ✌️

Peter

He's referring to the rip fence (a.k.a. "stopper" in Queen's English) sized for the CS 70 and the MFT/3-VL not the CS 70 push/pull saw.

[member=1501]Samo[/member] - PM me if you would like some guidance.

Thanks, Peter Halle, you are right.

But in some instances there are few other options than go past and neglecting a warranty. And if Samo like me are aware, I have now hesitation to recommend a Festool product that in this instance is an accessory made for the CS 50 and 70 saws. They are also recommended for CMS and MFT/3 and the CMS-VL MFT/3. Depending on wich fits in length to your table or saw. LA-CS 50/CMS fits CS 50, and CMS-GE with VB tables. The LA-CS 70 fits MFT/3 and the VL table to MFT/3 and the CS 70 saw.
Therefore as an original accessory I think it is safer than most aftermarket solutions.

I made this video for my brother in law when I received my CS 50.
It is showing the micro adjustment feature and fence lock:
(Well, video is either to large (even compressed) so I’ll try post it later)
- Got the video - sort of since one cannot upload video here:
LA-CS

[member=71478]FestitaMakool[/member] - Peter was confused - he thought you both were referring to the CS 70 push/pull saw not just the LA (the rip fence/stopper). Since this particular item doesn't qualify for the 3-year warranty (it's considered an accessory) it doesn't matter where one were to acquire it.

I just bought into the whole festool system and sad to see one of the more useful becoming useless. It's going to be hard to sell 1,700 for a table that only supports router. I hope they have something new coming out very soon.

Hi guys just to follow up on this thread... I ended up buying the Festool CMS with the OF router top for my OF 1400. I also ordered the table top for my track TS-55R Saw called the CMS-TS-55-R and another top for my Carvex PS420 jigsaw called the CMS-PS. I ordered those parts from Germany and had them shipped over, no customs issues but they were not cheap. I later added the INCRA LS positioner fence that I added Jessem Clear Cut table saw guides for use with the CMS-TS-55-R and Jessem Mite-R-Slide for dovetail work. I add the sliding table when I need it and I use the Festool Fence that came with my CMS router table setup sometimes like when building shaker doors.

Anyhow I LOVE it! :) I prefer using the TS-55 in track saw mode but sometimes you need a table saw to get the job done. I made some hard maple / baltic birch shaker doors that were very nice. I use the Woodpeckers coping sled to cut the ends of the rails. I made a youtube video showing how I make my doors, I am sure it is a bit amateur hour but I really like the results I got. I feel with this setup my trusty Kapex and my new Festool domino (Thank you 34% off Amazon Warehouse Deals) I can make just about anything.

Here is the video if anyone is interested:

Oh and the router table I made that attached to my MFT is now on the auction block for sale.... Lesson learned buy the real thing next time and skip trying to recreate it on my own. :(

i would love to know where you got them if they have any more....love the idea as well.

Jim
