Well, they're not here quite yet, but they are coming!

Festool's CTC SYS I and CTC MIDI I dust extractors offer all the power and features you expect, but with the cordless convenience provided by battery powered tools.

Each dust extractor is powered by a pair of 18V batteries and cycles on automatically via a Bluetooth signal sent by a Festool Bluetooth battery or the included remote control. The control panel features a main power switch, manual on/off switch, and suction control.

To complement the cordless extractors, Festool is also launching a new 6 amp Duo Rapid Charger to charge two batteries at once, and two new Energy Sets with the charger and either 4.0 Ah or 5.0 Ah batteries.

The CTC SYS I Basic is available for pre-order now, and the rest of the products will be available next year.

I noticed the specs on these DEs state the run time for two batteries is 15-30 minutes.  That is twice or long or half as much depending on how you view it.  Why such a wide difference in run time.  Is there a specific tool or how it is used that cause the difference?

It's battery dependent and likely material dependent.

For the MIDI it's 12 to 22 minutes runtime with 2x 4.0 Ah batteries; 16 to 30 minutes runtime with 2x 5.2 Ah batteries.

For the CTC SYS I it's 14 to 25 minute runtime with 2x 4.0Ah batteries. Very similar to the MIDI specs above. Festool also advises that this can be used with the 18V 3.1 batteries.
