I have the new 2019 kS120 REB mitre saw to which i have attached the Festool crown stop to the saw so i can fit the Trimming attachment  KA-KS 120. The problem i have is that when i attach the trimming attachment to the saw and adjust it so it is flush with the fence there is a 3-4mm gap between the fence and the trimming attachment, this means my work piece does not sit flush, there does not seem to be enough movement on the crown stop for adjustment. Not sure if the crown stops are compatible with the KS120 REB due to the extending workpiece support on the mitre saw (the old 120 EB did not have these extensions).

Anyone have any ideas or if Festool have adapted the crown stop for the new KS120 REB.

Happy xmas from the UK.

Hi,

I do also have the KA-KS, with Kapex MFT (though using it with the UG set right now)
Can you describe more exactly? Maybe I don’t understand, but I’m happy to connect a KA-KS to see what your problem is. I do also have the new KS 120 REB. (I am considering adding/modding the other part of the Vee grove that is missing on the extendable side wings, to have more room for moving the crown stop wings - that you need for using the KA-KS)

Good morning, i have tried to add a photo but the system keeps throwing up an error.

Basically you have a knob that tightens the crown stop to the LH side v groove, within the crown stop is the locking part of mechanism and it is this that will not allow the Crown stop ro extend far enough forward.

On the REB the space to move the crown stop is reduced due to the extsion wings, the EB model did not have these extensions.

In the crown stop itself their is a hole that you extend a bolt through from underneath into a T nut in the trimming attachment, you then adjust the crown stop front or back to align it to the fence on the Kapex.

The LH side crown Stop and RH side crown stop are the same (unless i ordered wrong) but have a small angle cut out at one end and a wider one at the other end. If used on the LH side the narrow angle is at the front, whereas it is at the rear on the RH side. I have no problem with the trimming attachment to the RH side but there is a gap if fitted on the LH side.

Probably not explained well but cannot upload photo.

I think I know what you are thinking of. I’ll try attach mine as soon as I can, to check.
- Yes, my side wings too are from the same mould - there’s no LH and RH side of these, they are not mirrored, unfortunately. I did address this to Festool via my dealer, regarding fitment to the 120REB. Answer was that FT intended not to offer an updated version of these wings. Although restrictions most likely applies to the EB version as well - You cannot use extreme mitre angles with these wings, without sliding the wings back and forth... At least the EB versions have Vee grove all the way, not only “tabs” of Vee grove as the REB.
