Festool CT MINI I vs MIDI I: is the only difference the base?

Hi,

I made the big mistake of purchasing the CT mini several months ago. Great vac but it’s just too small for me. Now I am wondering whether the only difference between the two vac is the base? Aside from a higher base, I can’t recognize a difference in the pictures and specs. So my questions are: a) Is the base exchangeable so that in theory it is possible to convert a Mini to a Midi and the other way around? B) if that is the case, does Festool sell the vacuum base as spare parts?

Thanks!

Yes on all parts.

Mini & Midi are the same and the base is interchangeable and sold seperately.

You can order the part through a dealer or, if you're in the USA, through Festool directly.

Thanks! That is awesome. So the only part I need to order is 203730, which is the container and includes the wheels and all the others part of the base?

Where exactly can I order the part in the USA? Sorry, the festool website is not very helpful.

Thanks!

As Alex said, they are identical apart from the bin height.

I ordered the complete (as your part no’ 203730) MIDI bin for my MINI, it came complete with locks, roll stop, casters and wheels readily assembled. All you have to do is lift the top over to the other bin. You can swap bins in a heartbeat if you need a lower dc.
For the price, there’s a lot of parts, and some good value in it in just the parts.

Edit: I have the optional handle mounted on the MIDI bin, as the handle is only mounted to the bin I can swap to the MINI bin and suddenly have a very compact dc to go.  [big grin]

Look at the price of the part. Might be better off just selling your MINI and buying a new MIDI.
