I saw a recent one where he was using a festool track saw to size a door, but my goodness that rail looked abused with saw marks. Not the kind of care I try to take of my tools.

HTF do you cut a festool rail if using it correctly ?

Maybe it was a result of a kickback

[size=11pt]

Until a few weeks ago, I wondered how could anyone get kickback on such a fine tool as a T55. Then it happened, and on pine lining board!  [eek]. I have since purchased a kickback stop.

So now my newer rail (of 2) has a battle scar. The other rail has a router scar from when the router brake was a bit slower than I expected. Yes that brake (NAINA)  is a great feature, but the router still has to stop before lifting it from the rail. More  [eek]

I'm in the scarred rail club as well. The first time I used my ts75 years ago I was to mill some 12/4 red oak. This required a non-through rip that had to start on a plunge cut. Was using the stock blade, not a Panther blade. Ended up with some good gouges in the rail. Changed my shorts, set the anti-kickback stop and got back to work. Those gouges still act as a reminder to be careful in awkward situations.
