Was checking out my new Domino 700 XL today....My problem was, when I took the unit apart the larger of sleeve assembly met much resistance in inserting the male end into the female when reassembling. I did put sewing machine oil on both male and female assembly. After much aligning and re-positioning and a little elbow grease they finally went back together..... Is this normal or does anyone have any suggestion  to assist in a smoother reassembly?

Gene,

Welcome to the forum.

The tubes on both models of Domino Joiners are machined to highly precise tolerances. They are a snug fit, but I can't say I've ever had difficulty realigning or assembling them. There shouldn't be resistance. There should also not be any need for lubricant on a new machine.

You will notice that the tubes are different lengths. The idea is that it's easier to align and connect one at a time rather than both.

Would you be willing to pop the fence off again and try it again? If you're still having trouble, shoot me an email at sho@festoolusa.com and I'll have our service team give you a buzz on Monday.

The fit is tight.  When you pull it apart it almost sounds like a champagne cork.

Problems with my Domino 700 rectified, I added some sewing machine oil as per manual to the tubes and let stand for a couple days. I then disassembled as before, and reinserted tubes, this time without any resistance………I repeated several times and wiped off excess oil just to be on the safe side………Thanks for all who made suggestions……….
