Festool Domino XL won't work

I bought the machine a few years ago and never used it, just left it in the box.
Today I got it out to make some doors and it ran for 1 minute and stopped.
Power is getting through the lead. There is no visible problem. The machine has never been used.
I am in Asia nowhere near a Festool dealer.

What do I do ?

I'm guessing it's the switch. It must have corroded in the box and burnt out straight away?
What else could it be ?

There are Festool dealers in the Asian countries that I have lived in and the Asian country I now live in.

So it would probably help to mention the country you are in.

You hit yourself over the head that you have bought a machine and let it sit for years without using it..... powertools are meant to be used regularly otherwise all kinds of things can go wrong like lubricants gumming up or corrosion.

Find a dealer or a repairshop, little to be done from behind a screen.

Sorry to hear about your situation.  You might want to cycle the switch numerous times.  If my memory serves me correctly many of the Festool switches are called wiper switches and operating them numerous times might "clean" them.

FWIW I have my ETS sander in for repair at the moment with the Thai Festool importer.

I had a somewhat similar problem with my Domino 500.  Created a post on this site to ask for help and in the end I learned a lot about how the switches work, etc. but it was a simple problem (I hope...still need to test it over time).  One (or possibly both) of the power leads that go to the motor (actually the armature on the motor) slid loose.  I pulled them away, crimped them every so slightly and put them back on for a snug fit.  They are spade connectors.  For me that seems to have solved the issue.  Perhaps you will also be so lucky...that the vibration of the Domino XL shook the wires loose.  Let us know what solves it.

I can relate to that as sometimes changes affecting our lives are out of our control, and changes won't hold until you have had a chance to use a newly bought machine or tool. But I would not expect a decent machine to go south just after a few years in the box unless it is subject to unreasonable conditions.

I had had machines (biscuit joiner, nailer, cordless drills, air compressor, jointer, bench mortising machine, routers, etc.), some rather new and some a bit old that sat idle unused for a year to a number of years (in extremely cold winters at times) and they never leaked or failed to fire. Eventually I sold them all due to low usage.

Really appreciate all the comments and thoughts on this. I have taken it to a local repair shop not a Festool place. It's out of warrenty anyway and my guess/hope is the fault is a simple fix.
If they can't fix it I'm they'll diagnose it. I'll post the result. Thanks again...
