Festool Drill systainer? PDC/TI18?

Long story short my 9.5 year TI18+3 drill drilled its final hole last week. It was accidentally kicked out of an attic and fell 10ft. It had been on its last leg anyway so im not surprised this killed it. The drill has been nothing short of abused daily in its lifetime and the batteries are still running strong (original) I'm not sure another drill on the market with these features would have lived as long as this did.

I'm going to buy another one as all my accessories are functioning but warn down. But i think to get the 5ah batteries im going to buy the PDC-18+4 and buy the TI-18 bare tool.

I could have sworn Festool had a SYS insert for a sys3 that allowed you to have both drills in the systainer? am I crazy? It might have been the sys3 with the drawer at the bottom?

Thanks!

They had one that was a black hard foam. I have my c18, and 15festool impact in it. I will try to take a picture.

Is this what you are thinking about?

I think that Festool might be discontinuing all current model numbers with batteries and likely coming out with some other kind of replacement. I was at my dealer today and they said most everything cordless is going back to Festool except basic kits and the drywall screw gun and cordless sanders. Not sure why other than anticipating the newer 4 ah batteries on drills. But, if you need to buy something now I might do it this week or wait for an announcement. Maybe [member=6061]festool[/member] can comment on what is going on with the cordless lineup.

Interesting, that Would explain why both of my Woodcrafts dont have the TI18 in stock. Does anyone have a clue on timing for the release? I COULD drag out my old dewalt drill if we are talking a few weeks, maybe a month. thanks for the headsup!

It looks like a PDC/TID set will be released, you might want to wait for that! It includes the 5ah and new 4ah batteries, probably in a single systainer (with insert).
Found here, price will probably be lower once available:https://www.rucne-naradie.sk/festool-tid-18-5-2-4-0-i-set-pdc18-aku-sada

thanks, seeing this, do you think they are discontinuing the TI18? I really don't need an impact for what I do (I dislike them anyway)

There isn't a TI18; you're referring to the T 18 and there are no plans I'm aware of to discontinue it. They're just changing the standard batteries to the newer, higher capacity versions. There used to be a dual insert for the T 15 (or C 15) and Ti 15 but I'm not aware of one for the PDC and T 18.

The new impact launches in Europe in April is the TID 18.

I have a TI15 but didn’t know there was a TI18. Is this a nonUSA product?

There isn't and has never been a TI 18. There is a *new* impact called the TID 18 that will launch in Europe in April 2020.

I received a pre-order offer on the TiD-18 from Ultimate Tools in Canada. No mention of when it will be available. Their shipping to the US is $100.
