I have had many requests to do something about the HL850 and was lucky enough to be able to borrow one in order to make this video:


The machine goes back to Festool in the next week or two.

Great video.  I've looked at this unit for a while.  Has some nice features that the typical units don't. (being able to go right up to a wall, etc is nice), better looking dust setup than others. I have a different brand and it just clogs.

Odd it doesn't have a plug it, that's annoying.

It's very nice to see someone demonstrating one.

I have been thinking about getting one of these for some time. Here in the uk FFX tools have the 110volt version for £365 (at the time of writing) which strikes me as a good price. 240 volt examples, however, are not only few and far between as far as I can see but considerably more expensive for some reason. I don't fancy having to haul out my extremely heavy 110 volt transformer every time I need to use the thing so I'll wait and see if supplies/ prices improve in the near future.
