Festool Hose Sleeve part number?

Does someone know the part number for the Festool Hose sleeve for the dust collectors?

I have enough hoses, but I'd like to put them (and the Plug-It cord) into a sleeve.

Thanks!

Alternate ideas are welcome, too!

not sure if that works. my understanding is that the hose is tapered. so a constant diameter hose might not work.

Not sure if you can buy the sleeve separately.  You can buy Gorilla brand sleeve from vendors like toolnut.com

I did this and sleeved the hose and cord in, but found that The cord ideally should exit the sleeve a foot or so before the hose exits. (From the pictures of the FT sleeved hose this appears to be what was done). This method does not work well with the Gorilla brand.  I am unaware of other alternatives.  Ultimately, I sleeved just the hose and Velcro strapped the cord to the outside.  Not one of my prouder moments of reverse engineering.

As far as I know, the sleeve, hose and cord are sold as an assembly only.  [smile]
On toolnut site they only carry the 5m version, which I feel may be too long for some extraction needs.  The description does indicate that the hose is tapered and if true that may offset the extraction power/length issue I referenced above.  Even I f it does, I feel the extra length may get under foot.

I must say that, after working with the 5m hose for a quite while, the 3.5m ones feel to be on the short side and I prefer the 5m one.

The festool sleeved hose is a little less flexible but it fully makes it up with no longer catching on everything (as normal ones do on a constant basis) and removing the hazzle of the cord adding to that mess.

Has anyone tried the grip wrap sleeve?https://www.wirecare.com/category/braided-sleeving/general-purpose/grip-wrap

I like the idea of being able to open and close it in case you ever have to change/swap the cord.  The question is whether the velcro would hold up for the long term in a dusty workshop environment.

I am going to try PET braided sleeving that I saw on one of Dave Stanton's videos.  I would have some concern with Wirecare's Velcro closure catching on something as the cord is moved about.  The PET is inexpensive and comes in Neon Green!

I use Techflex PTN1.50 Flexo Pet, 1-1/2" that I buy from HAVE Inc. - $44.00 + shipping for 40'

I wrapped the hoses for my CT 22 & MIDI in Flexo Ogre (green & black) and it worked well until I tried Festool's solution.  The Festool hose is a lot more flexible, consequently both of the Flexo wrapped hoses are now coiled up and reside in the Systainers that the 500276 hoses came in.  [tongue]

Edward, to answer your question, I'm using the Grip Wrap/Dura Wrap on an electrical bundling issue. The basic wrap material itself is not as flexible as Flexo because it is a tighter weave. In addition it has hook sewn on one edge and loop sewn on the other edge that stiffens it and when the hook & loop are joined together it further stiffens the whole assembly. It's great for items that will not be moved.

Possibly a better solution to your question is to consider the use of Flexo F6 or F6 Woven Wrap.https://www.wirecare.com/category/braided-sleeving/split-tube-wraps

I've recently been using the F6 Woven Wrap on some motorcycle trailer wiring and the stuff is real slick. It's a preformed tube of woven polyester that closes over itself by 1 1/2 - 1 3/4 times. It can be a real pain trying to get everything inside but once inside it will not come out on its own.

Festool GQ Hose sleeve part numbers are:
#500588 for the 3.5 m version at €86
#500589 for the 10 m version at €185
For these prices you can buy a lot of Techflex nylon covers.

Or you can all wait for the new, smoother and more flexible hose that is (supposedly) coming out "soon" according to a German Festool Rep I talked to a few weeks back.  [smile]
