New hose just arrived and the rotating connector squeaks

Is this normal? Any fix?

This moaning is standard and completely free of charge on some of the hoses from Festool  [big grin]

I had one squeaking like that. Never did anything about it, I think it just went away on it's own. The turkeys went away too.  [big grin]

Or maybe I just don't notice it anymore. I am sure it will start squeaking again now and drive me nuts.

Maybe just take it apart and give the offending surfaces a wipe with TriFlo?

That’s not a bad idea. Will try it

I have three hoses and they all do the same especially after cutting stone, tiles etc. - the fine abrasive particles seem to enter the joints. Quick fix is an occasional spray of dry PTFE lubricant. It comes in aerosol cans with a thin tube like WD40, so you can blast it into all those little crevices. Try your local auto store, they sell it for lubricating door locks.

will do.  thank you

My new ct26 hose did the same squeak. I popped the connector apart to lightly sand off the flashing. I think I used some 220 and did just a few passes as did not want to deform the interface. No more squeak on mine.

Reached out to festool and they replied that I should exchange it as there is no warranty for the hose as its a consumable item.  Doing exchange with vendor, lets see if it helps

I got a new hose a few weeks ago that did exactly the same thing. Customer service at Toolnut recommended a silicone-based spray and it worked great. Doesn't squeak at all now. Don't use WD-40 or any other oil-based spray.

I got dry lube spray, popped the connector opened and sprayed inside it.  Didn't help in my case.  replacement hose just arrived will try it shortly

New hose arrived and it has same issue. So returning it is pointless lol.

Which spray did you use and where did you spray it?

I used some silicone spray lubricant that I had in my garage. I sprayed it (using the thin straw it came with) into the end of the hose that connects to the vacuum in the seam between the connector that spins and the plastic part on the end of the hose. I spun the end connector while I was spraying and the squeaking stopped within a few seconds. Didn't take much.
