Festool Hose To Hose Fitting?

I have two 27mm, 3.5m hoses that I want to join together.  I'm looking for a fitting that will join the two without causing a stiff, inflexible portion in the hose length or as little as possible.  I know I could change hose end fittings, then put a barrel-type fitting in between, however that causes that longer-than-desired straight portion and I don't want that.  Is there such a fitting?

I  enquired with a guy about 6 months ago for making such a fitting, he never responded back. I too would like to find one.

Rubber drain pipe couplers come in a variety of diameters and are reasonably flexible.
I’ve never tested this idea out (though I have used the couplers).  So take this as an idea rather than a suggestion.

The drain couplers would probably work, however you will most likely lose the antistatic feature. It will also be a sweet spot for blockages.

Buy the Festool nozzle & coupling, buy any antistatic hose by the meter and be done with it.

I ran a thin, bare copper wire through my hose when I set it up.  It was the anti-static recommendation at that time.  I think it works. 

Lots of options for under $30.00 and some for under $20.00

I ran 4” diameter hose for my system.  I agree that it is probably better than vacuum hose for this application.  Not too expensive.  But all the fittings add up.

I would note that I originally got gates that would close off the hose in one direction or the other.  The first ones were molded from plastic.  I replaced them with the all metal versions and they are much, much better.

That's what I do. I have two different hoses under my router table bench, connected to different ports. I just connect the appropriate one to the main one of the CT, when needed. The one that goes to the router base itself will actually reach the CT, but it's just as easy to do it this way, since the other one will not.
I wish I had known this a long time ago, it's a fairly recent discovery.

I didn't know that!  You're right!  They do fit end to end.  I guess I could do that until I find a more elegant solution.  Thanks!  I was hoping I could strip the ends off and use some kind of coupler to join them.

Personally, I don't think you'll find a more elegant solution...no adapters...no extra parts to fumble with or misplace...just plug together & play. [big grin]

Anything short of a 1-piece continuous hose is a functional compromise. Festool sells 7 meter length hoses for a reason.  [smile]

If you were to take off the fittings, a "barrel" could be made that would clip into the remaining rotating collars.  Hope that makes sense.  Someone could make some $ on that printed item.

The performance drop from 32->27->expansion nozzle->32->27 would make a permanent coupler get hate boners like the CT-VA20 does.  The current adapter is a designed for the 36D.  Although the 27D was supported as a kludge for those times you did need just a few more meters and don't care since you're turning suction down anyways for sanders.
