Not sure where this belongs but figured I would post anyway.... Mods can move if they wish...

Seems I suffered a battle wound from the Domino.....  tired to put a dominio slot in my finger...  (personally I am going to blame this on metrics)..

Ok here is the story...

I was making a few cutting  boards and decided I would attache the feet with 6x40 mm dominos..  I gut the legs 1"Tx3/4"Wx7"L..  made my marks...

insted of sloting the 1"T  I did the 3/4"W ---  So when I plunged the cutter came through and took a semi nice chunk out of my ring finger on my left hand.... it took some of the finger nail and finger tip with it...

Did it hurt yeah.. ER visit.. nope,,, it's going to scar... I will  make up a story of herorics to explain how I got it...

So pay attention.. to the depth of the cutter.... when makeing plunges on smaller pieces remember to use a backer board....

as for blaming metrics... I can't visualize 20mm, 10m or 5mm or 200 mm - but I can 3/4" 7/8" or what ever other fraction... oh well live and learn I guess.....  [eek]

Bet this  post took you some time to type with an injured hand  [tongue]

Hope its not to bad!

Sorry to hear that.  I forgot to reset my Domino depth of cut just this week.  Luckily, I morticed thru a rubber sanding matt and about a quarter inch into my MFT top.  You can't have a wandering or tired mind in the shop, and that's what was happening to me.  When that happened, it was time to call it a night.

adubeau,  hope it heals well enough not to become an impairment.

Hours my man hours  [big grin]
good thing it was my left hand and not my right

After I put an air nail through my finger one day, I never,  and I said never, put my hand on or near the end of anything -as you will not
