I visited my local Festool shop for a tool maintenance and at same time wondered out loud why their selection does not include any impact wrench of sorts.

As a result the person pulled out IWC 18-2 from under the desk and said that at least they used to.

So I did some interwebing and found out that those orange versions were sold some ~5-6 years ago and have since vanished entirely and not been reintroduced in green colour like DRC and PDR quadrives have.

Being able to fit 1/2" socket and 1/4" bit directly on the tool would be useful at least for me.
And being able to use same batteries as I use on the other tools would be preferred.

Anyone here have any idea why those were cancelled?
- Quality issues and too much returns?
- No market for them?

I've got one, I like it, but...
-it's heavy, maybe not compared to other impact wrenches, but way more than most "screw driving" impact drivers.
- I've only put a 1/4 bit directly in the 1/2 drive twice, both times it's sheared off within 2 screws.  If I use the centrotec impact chuck and the BH60 centrotec to 1/4 adaptor, no problems.  But it means I've now got a heavy + long impact driver.

I was surprised it didn't get taken into the Festool range, but I assumed they had a new impact driver ready for release.  A few years later, still waiting.
