"Kamco Supply of New York has been serving the building supply needs of the metro area for more than 75 years." link

Kamco has locations in Brooklyn and Manhattan. The Manhattan location saved my bacon once when I forgot the power cord.

Remember when it was really hard to find Festool supplies. I'm sure it still is in most places but I now find it difficult to find supplies for my Bosch sanders.

I'd just bought some nice new 6" sanders from Bosch (dual mode and finish) when I learned about Festool. They are nice sanders and still running well so I still don't have a 6" Festool sander.

Now I'm having a hard time finding the 6 hole abrasives required by the Bosch tools. Plenty of places carry the 8 hole pattern used by Makita and Dewalt. Bosch is getting orphaned.

I stopped by Kamco thinking they would have the Bosch stuff but they didn't (only some 5" 8 hole disks). Instead I found a big well stocked display of Festools. Seems if I want to buy abrasives at Kamco I have to buy a Festool sander.

Times have changed.

If you need to make your Bosch work a little while longer or allow your wallet to get a little thicker, check out klingspor for abrasives. They aren't local, but they'll have what you need at a reasonable price.

Here's the link to their 6" x 6-hole offering:

They've got some really GREAT prices on some closeout grits right now - 50 disks for $11.95 or less than 25¢ per disk!

Mike, that's nice to hear more guys getting involved.  What about Tools for Working Wood.  I've heard SUCH good things about them.  Supposedly great guys, infinitely wise and a very cool showroom.  Always wanted to go poke around there and get myself a firm education and walk out with my tail between my legs.  I'm sure I would.

A 7 train into Queens a couple of stops will put you at Eveready Hardware. Great people and a pretty good supply of Festool.
