So in the June 2020 Fine Homebuilding magazine there is a Festool ad saying "Launches July 1, Ready. For Anything, Festool Cordless"

Is this for the TID 18?!?

Great discovery and I sure hope that it is for the TID18. I also hope this means that  they will be available for Sale starting in July!

That sounds like a headline for more than a single tool.  That sounds like something you would do if you were launch a new system, or making every tool in the family cordless.  Maybe Festool has a new/different battery  [tongue]

Where did you see the ship date change?  Still shows July 1st at Toolnut where I ordered.

I've noticed a store here in Canada, Atlas Machinery, has started to heavily discount various cordless tools. Sanders in the ergo battery system and several 18V systems are being discounted by 60%. For example, a DTSC 400 with the AC adapter that retails for $888 canadian dollars is now on sale for $349 Cad. Is this a sign that all these battery systems will be replaced? You guys think I should hold off on my purchases?

Wow. I just bought a used one a couple a week ago. The prices from Atlas are better brand new! Damn. For $333 shipped you can get the complete kit and and extra battery. That’s insane. Wish I had waited.

On the other hand yeah not sure why they are discounted.

I just bought a BHC from this sale to get larger and extra batteries for the new combo PDC/TID set.  There were two BHC sets in the sale, both with batteries.  This tool doesn't come from Festool with a battery anymore.  Looked at those sanders very hard because of the incredible price.  What I can see with everything in this sale is they are tools packaged in a way Festool no longer sells them or slightly different from the new versions.  The sanders don't have the Bluetooth battery that activates dust control which is new on the Cordless release.  I suspect instead of sending tools back to Festool, Atlas is blowing out non-current sets...at least I'm hoping that's the case and there isn't a new BHC surprise and I bought outdated tech and could've had chisel mode...

Yea, I ended up going crazy and bought a whole bunch of stuff. I just couldn't stop myself, the deals were too good even with the possibility of new tools on the horizon. :
