Festool Kapex 120 - Clicking Sound

It is 15 years old I think.
One of the first in Aus.
Got it for more than half price at the time.
So no it wasn't a steal.

Would prefer to fix this myself if possible.
Already spent a couple grand AU for upgrades to extraction and thicknesser.

Nothing caught between the blade and housing or guard.

Any info on how to repair myself would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Barry, does it click when turned on, or when you spin the blade by hand?

And does the sound vary according to the speed control?

Festool support wrote twice that it is normal.

I was sure it was not.

Went back out since it was normal.

Twice started up wound down with the same clicking noise.

Started third time and wound the speed controller all the way down then all the way back up.
wound  down without clicking noise.
Started again and not clicking noise.

Hope this will help anyone surprised with the same issue.

Sounds like either something was lodged somewhere and came loose, or possibly the brushes had a chip and they'be levelled out?

The first seems the culprit I would think though.

Wouldn't hurt to try operating the FastFix.  I could see that getting gummed up in the fifteen years.  Who knows, maybe it is partial operated.
