anyone else going to this event?, friday 14th&saturday 15th,festool demonstrations friday only,i think the domino xl and new impact driver will be there,discounts on mafell,lamello,lie-nielsen,tormek and others at the event.

just got back yesterday from going to this event,it was very disappointing,the main demonstrations i was interested in were the festool,for the domino xl and the new impact driver,and the mafell for their tools,both demonstrations were poor and unexciting,i tried out the xl, found it susprisingly easy to plunge given the large bit and resulting mortice,its comfortable to hold and use horizontally but awkward to use in the upright mode,the impact driver is strong, driving long screws easily but no better than my milwaukee,the mafell guys only demonstrated the small flexible guide rail saw,very disappointing given the range and quality of mafell powertools,i knew more about their range than the demonstrator,
none of these demonstrations in my opinion would enthuse people to buy their tools,sorry i bothered to go really.

That doesnt surprise me  [laughing]. I went to the D&M tool show the other week and felt I knew more than most of the demo guys there apart from the Festool stand.
