For any of you that have the MFS 700/400/1000, how useful do you find it to be?  What sorts of things does it work well at and what did you hope it would do that it doesn't?  There doesn't seem to be much recent talk about the MFS recently, so I thought I'd look for some opinions.

Basically I do general hobby type woodworking.  Some outdoor furniture, jewelry boxes, kitchen/shop cabinets, and the like.  I have several Festool tools already, including TS75 with Seneca Parallel guides, OF1400 router, DF700 domino, and several sanders (RO90, DTS400, RO150, ETS150), LR32 kit and a few others.

Lee,

I went looking for the thread Edward linked to, thanks Edward.  I own the 700 version plus a set of the 200 profiles. I like the 700 and will probably get the MFS 400 in the future. I've used mine to route Dutchman in a damaged patio table, route hinge  mortices and juice groves in cutting boards.

The templates are helpfull for patern routing rectangular shapes and as a router tramel. I don't consider mine an essential but I'm glad I have it.

Be sure to read Brice's guide, it's excellent.

John
