Anyone having a problem with there quadrive drill pdc18/4, I cant select a desired gear without battling with the drill there's all sorts of grinding noises on gear 1 when changing gear the switch ends up going between numbers 3-4  and 2-3 I've tryed pressing trigger between shift works sometimes.also when u lift the drill upside down and press the trigger the sound slightly changes asif the gears aren't properly engaged  there's grease coming out of drill onto selection switch it's really frustrating as the drill hasn't been used that much would appreciate feedback thank you

[welcome] to the FOG

This doesn't sound healthy at all. There's not really anything you can do other than return it for warranty service. The gearbox on the PDC is know to be a little stiff/notchy, but the symptoms you're experiencing are beyond anything remotely acceptable.

Time to send it off!

I'm getting in touch with them Monday as their offices are closed, never sent anything back to them hope there customer service are better than the drills gear box.

What was the outcome with the gear selector switch issue. I just got a reconditioned PDC 18 and Am having a similar problem

The op's drill is messed up.  If your PDC just has a stiff gear selector,
that's normal.  It doesn't switch as easily as a two speed cordless.
It's stiff, like on a large 700w+ corded drill....but even stiffer.
I'm not sure if you're necessarily supposed to pull the trigger while
changing gears, but doing that will certainly do the trick if it absolutely
won't switch manually.
