Festool plastic compartments do not fit in new t-loc sys-1 box

Hi folks,
I bought a new t-loc sys-1 box (item 497694), and love it.  I have a few more sets of smaller screws I wanted to put in it, and didn't need the larger green or blue compartments, so I ordered some extra yellow and red compartments (487658 and 487657).

They look like this:  [attachthumb=1]
To my surprise, they don't fit.
It's not even close.

It looks like this if you try: [attachthumb=2].

Laying them out side by side, you can see the purchased compartments are non-trivially larger than the ones that come in the box: [attachthumb=3].

I'll leave out any rants about changing the size of plastic boxes, and ask something constructive:
Does festool (or tanos or whoever) produce extra compartments that fit in the new sys-1 box properly?

If so, does anyone know where I can get them (item numbers would be ideal, too :P).

Welcome to the forum. Sorry for the trouble with your Sys 1 Box.

Yes, there is a difference in the box sizes between the classic Systainer version and the T-LOC version. Here are the product numbers for the T-LOC boxes:

Red (12 pieces) - 498038
Yellow (6 pieces) - 498039
Blue (3 pieces) - 498040
Green (2 pieces) - 498041

Sorry, but I don't have a number right off hand for the orange one which is new in the T-LOC version.

The dimensions changed because the inside dimensions and configuration of the T-LOC is different from the classic Systainer.

i will guess that the ones you ordered are replacments for the classic systainer. i dont know the new part numbers but one of the festool buffs will be along soon to post them. if you bought of off one of the very good dealers on here im sure they will swap them for you

sorry shane got here before me to post. see how he knew those numbers from memory, he's a machine  [wink]

Thanks for the new numbers, I really appreciate it :)

Yeah, they are for the classic, apparently.  They were bought from Amazon so i can just return them. From what I can see, none of the good dealers (bob, etc) list the new ones on their website.  I'll email them and see if they can get them for me.

im sure if you stick them up in the clasfied section here some one will take them off your hands. it might recoup most of the cost for you.

Danny, you should have joined here sooner, it would have saved you some headaches .  A couple of weeks ago someone posted about this problem and the solution.  All the same, welcome to the FOG.

It ended up being no big deal. I returned the non-fitting ones to Amazon, and Sean was kind enough to through the new ones up on festoolproducts for me, so it all worked out okay!
