Festool Price Increase - Now with handle correction!

Hey folks,

Festool announced their April 1, 2008 price increase today and some of the increases are significant. I've developed a table you can reference to look up parts in order to compare today's prices with those to come. That page is here -> Click for Festool Alert.

I hope you all find this helpful. Price increases are tough for everyone but, with Festool, you know they put their money into continual innovation so it's easy to understand. Let me know if there is other information I can add to this to be helpful.

In addition, Euro to Dollar exchange rate is killing the European companies operating in the US, they have no choice but to raise prices, cut cost and become more efficient. 

This would be a great time to support Festool to ensure continued future success in the US!

My distributor also told me yesterday no more package deals (tool with vac for example) any truth to this. Any one else heard anything?? :-\

The package deals still seem to be there. Just look towards the bottom of Ron's list and you'll see them.

Hey Dan I just noticed that but I'm sure that's what my dealer said. He said the rep was just in yesterday and that was just one of the changes they had been told were coming.

Fortunately, the Festool tools I currently have will keep me going.

With those new prices, though, it will be much more difficult to make a satisfactory value proposition to me for acquiring new tools.

I think the OF 1400 router was $395 two years ago. Now it will cost you $450.

The way things sell on Ebay a buyer from two years ago could probably sell today and get most or all of his money back!

I ain't selling any of my Festool's!!

United States Festool sales likely accounts for a small percentage of Festool Global sales.  The US market at the moment is not large enough for Festool to make that investment. 

That's why it's in everyones interest that Festool USA sell more tools.  Then they can begin to expand their US catalog to offer more tool options.

Ouch!! Some packages going up over $100. Saws, sanders, vacs. Only good thing, if I can upgrade some of my stuff to newer models, I will be able to sell the originals for excellent prices .

  As the quality of the "Made in USA" companies drops due to outsourcing of labor, (can you spell Milwaukee?)  Festo will be there to supply discerning craftsmen with the quality tools and innovations that the American companies won't supply.
 
Better engineering + higher quality= bigger price tag /
destructive foreign policy + failing economy= Bigger price tag.

    Just my opinion.

Are Festool products hand built by white lab coat wearing pampered organized union workers with government funded PhD's listening to chamber music who enjoy free healthcare, retirement welfare payments, vacations in the south of France and company provided complimentary dog grooming services amongst a list of benefits in order to keep up with production demands or are they assembled by computerized robotic machine's in a modern factory and for the most part never feel a human touch until the first time the systainer is opened by a joyous purchaser having a religious moment?
