Festool Pro 5 Limited Sander Promotion - where are we?

The bottom line is that the release date of PRO 5 LTD is, was and always will be November 1. Just because a dealer has it in stock or chooses to run a pre-order doesn't change the release date. This is a pretty universal expectation between manufacturers and retailers.

Yes, its against the rules and is wrong and should be addressed by Festool. But will it affect others? No.
So, "aggravating" is not the term I would use. More like don't care.

Yeah...who really cares if they got the sander a few days early?  Good for them!

Every dealer knows the rules, small mom and pop to big corporation. They signed an agreement and should abide by it, or face consequences such as being dropped as a dealer.  No it does not hurt me, it does hurt other dealers and that's not right. Having morals and integrity is important. I don't know that I would get "satisfaction" over a dealer being dropped for this reason, but I certainty would not lose any sleep over it either if they were dropped. It amazes me that some folks want to give these dealers a 'pass' for not following the rules they most definitely agreed to. Do you (a generalized 'you', no one specifically) not abide by your agreements in your business life...?

Have you considered that the person who received it may themselves be a dealer?  If they were, were they supposed to wait until Nov. 1 before they opened it and used it?

I'm sorry to see this sander promotion go down hill this way. I check this thread to see if there is any news on the sander I ordered but all I see is members calling out dealers, members bragging about their dealers delivering sanders before the agreed upon release dates, and members taking sides.

FOG, in my opinion is not the fun, informative place it used to be. I'm quite sorry to see this, I hope the moderators can somehow turn this place around to where it used to be.

One thing for sure is this...Festool has a pretty loyal following of customers.  It's really interesting because so many other brands run promos, people don't get them, it seems like it's no big deal.  But since Festool dealers sell everything at the same price, the second that there is some kinda promo or deal, people jump on it. 

Remember how insane it was last year with the reconditioned tool sale?  Holy cow.  I'm sure resellers were up to through the night handling orders lol.

Latest update from Festool  - real time - they are compiling actual numbers sold by the dealers, will do the math and let us better know status by week's end.  At that time, we can offer you way more solid information - who's gettin' what and when. Hang in there, guys.

I hope this doesnt lead to a rushed mass production of sanders to fill all the orders. Sped up assembly, hurried batch testing, etc. But i also hope i dont have to wait too long. You just cant please some people!

I received a tracking number 15 minutes ago from Bob for my Pro 5. So, I can confirm that there will be at least some people receiving their sanders on time. Good luck.

Ah the FOG of war... Had an update last week - eta in December, then yesterday November 16 and today March 8 2017. I am glad that I had not planned to give it away as a Christmas gift.
