Festool Pro 5 Limited Sander Promotion - where are we?

Shane,
There is no festool employee or sales rep that I respect more than you.. You were awesome as a festool employee. I still cant believe your not one!!
My post had nothing to do with you. I know I will get my sanders.  Sam

Looks like Festool has come through and has notified dealers that pre-orders will be filled. However, no new orders will be accepted. We are now waiting for an allocation schedule and times. That's up to the minute news - and I think it's good news.

This is good news.  Did Festool do anything for Black Friday? I need a 10% off a Domino or something.

Not typically. They have done promos for certain tools like the Domino, Kapex, vacs, Planex where the line was a certain % off, but not anywhere near Black Friday as I recall ... (so far anyhow!)

I ordered mine on the 4th from Ultimate Tools at 8est. But I haven't heard anything.

The other thread regarding CPO was shut down to early.

Email from CPO regarding the Pro5 ebay sanders they were selling today. I asked the question earlier as I stated in the closed thread, I finally got a response. Hopefully CPO is misinformed, my brother bought one we will see.

I believe that other thread did serve a purpose and the moderators were doing well taking out a post or too, but shutting it down well I disagree with that judgment call becasue this email should be there. whether this CPO worker is wrong or right the entire thread shows how one Festool Authorized sellers was dealing with customers. It showed their selling practices. Having a thread discussing where a Festool is being sold is valid to me.

Hello NIck,

Thank you for contacting CPO!

We understand you want to know if the $50.00 voucher is included with this purchase. At this time, the model we carry does not include the $50.00 voucher. We do apologize we are not able to apply this offer.

If we can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Please see the above post  showing a response from a FESTOOL dealer.

Yeah I almost didn't post it and just PM it to Tyler, but I thought maybe 20 or 30guys here might be on the hook  Let just hope this CPO worker is incorrect.

I dont know, CPO is not doing that great today. I am sticking to Shane(where I got mine) and Bob Marino.

I ask the question three times before I got the same answer as Dovetail, the first indicated to contact Festool regarding the voucher, the second said everything was included as delivered from Festool, the third was the same response as Dovetail got.  So it is unclear.  I pointed out to them the listing said the item was new and unopened so if the voucher is not there they had to have opened them to remove them.  I noticed they ended the auction shortly after I sent the email, within a couple of minutes.  They are looking as SNAD claims (significantly not as described) for potentially all of them they have shipped out.  Based on getting 3 different responses I have a feeling whomever is answering them has no idea what is going on.

BTW I ask three times once for each auction since they did not respond to the first query until after I ask the third time.

I was told that CPO does not open any of their orders. I believe the rebates are in the systainers as the employees there really don't know much about the promotions, etc. like other Festool dealers. They did not do pre orders and havnt been anticipating the sander like other dealers. CPO has over 30 brands they sell, so even the managers don't know half of whats going on! From prior ordering experience with them, which has been good btw, is that we will find them in the order.

Anyone - does the voucher significantly alter how much you'd be willing to pay for this sander ?

Meaning, would you still want one of these for $99 if it didn't come with the voucher?

I'm just trying to gauge the mood of people that have been left on the wrong side of the tracks - and splitting hairs at that.  Seems these are in short supply and demand is strong ; well outstripping supply.

Assuming CPO is repurposing vouchers ( and there's no evidence they are today) what are they doing with them ?

Selling them ?
Giving them away ?

Make little sense on the surface , so I'd suggest waiting to see what's delivered in the next few days.  If the vouchers are missing, the eBay hassle and expense alone is going to be noticeable on CPO's balance sheet.  Then there's all the shipping costs both ways that won't be recoverable.

Ha, just posted this same response in the other thread [big grin].  I agree with you 1000%, CPOhas good intentions, they are clueless regarding their products.

I don't mind posting about other dealers in my Sales thread, but just hold on a minute. I'm quite sure CPO simply isn't aware of the fact that the vouchers are in the systainers. The fact that they don't know about that is because they are a huge company with many different brands and you will get a robo-like response, rather than an informed response.
You can rest assured that the vouchers will be in there.

This is the first that I'm hearing about this from CPO. Every PRO 5 should include the voucher inside of the Systainer. Hopefully the CPO employee was simply misinformed.

[member=3373]Dovetail65[/member] Just to confirm, that email you sent was definitely in regard to a PRO 5 -- not a different sander -- right?

So this Pro 5 sander thing continues to evolve and continues to add drama to the mix. A new twist and turn every day. Hollywood couldn't write a more engaging script.

Well, I guess engaging is only relative to Foggers. A bunch of old fuddy duddies who genuinely enjoy watching paint dry and revel at how the changing sheen levels are worth documenting, while they lament that the sheen levels achieved nowadays are nowhere close to those available in the 60's, 70's and 80's.

I received the same email along with two different responses, I cover that in the thread specifically on the CPO voucher.  All three of my queries were about the Pro 5, no question there.

Yes Tyler it was the PRo5 here is the receipt from ebay, CPO rep probably just doesn't know whats what.

We clicked the contact right off this invoice and the email response is what I showed earlier.

Complained and received credit 10.00, with them saying they never sold them for 99.00, then I screen shot them the proof. No response  on that yet.

[attachimg=2]

Within 15 min the price went from 119, to 129 to 99, and it was a109 the night before. I think that should catch Festools eye if nothing else  it make Festool look bad though I know it nothing to do with them. Maybe Festool should place rules  setting the sales price in stone during these promotions.

I am done talking about this sander and CPO!

Absolutely, for me being retired, money doesn't come easily, so I'd be willing to pay a minimum of $150 or more for a Pro 5 without a voucher because it'd probably save me $1200 at least in future Festool purchases.

I know this is my first post here, but I thought, what a great time to jump in!

I received my PRO from the ToolNut this afternoon. I had ordered it the day that I received an email about the promotion; October 4th.

The systainer contents were:
Sander
Edge Guard
Plug-It cord
Manual
Sample pack of paper (thank god!)
Hose adapter (Appears to be a new product)
$50 Voucher

As far as bang for buck. I'd have happily paid 99 for just the bare tool and systainer. Everything else was a bonus.

I had to read that twice before I got it!  [big grin]
