Festool Quality Drill Bitt??? - I only nocked it off the bench.

And very strange. .  Had my set of those for years and never had anything happen to them. And I'm sure I drop mine pretty regularly :)

Did you say you bought it recently? Surely that should be replaced by the seller if so?
 
Was this mounted in the drill when it fell to the floor from bench height?
 
gotta be more careful. I dropped my FT drill with a FT forstner bit in it from my MFT to the concrete floor in my shop.

Bent the shaft on my forstner bit. I ended up sending it to a machine shop to get it straighten.

So the question is was the drill bit in the drill when you dropped it and did it land on a concrete floor or other hard surface?
 
T[size=12pt]o the 'speculators', no drill involved. Whether it had been previously damaged - who knows! This bitt was part of a set purchased several years ago but seldom used, so even if Festool warranted accessories I would have no claim now.

The good news I suppose, is that as it is Festool, it is replaceable.  [smile]

Anyway I have it off my chest now, thanks for listening.
